At least one cutting edge is formed in a transition between the upper and the side surfaces, wherein each cutting edge includes a main cutting edge extending above the main radial clearance surface and two corner cutting edges extending above the corner clearance surfaces on opposite sides of the main cutting edge. The main cutting edge slopes downward toward a midpoint of the main cutting edge and the main cutting edge and the main radial clearance surface slope outward from the corner cutting edges toward the midpoint.
Cutting insert, cutting tool, and method of producing machined product using the same
In a cutting insert according to an embodiment of the present invention, an upper surface sequentially includes a first rake surface and a second rake surface. The first rake surface being inclined toward the lower surface as going inward from the cutting edge at a first rake angle on a basis of a perpendicular plane perpendicular to a central axis extending between the upper surface and a lower surface. The second rake surface is located more inward than the first rake surface and is inclined toward the lower surface at a second rake angle different from the first rake angle on the basis of the perpendicular plane. An intersecting part of the first rake surface and the second rake surface includes a protruded part located at a highest position in a region of the intersecting part along the second side surface. A cutting tool with the cutting insert, and a method of producing a machined product by using the cutting tool are also provided.
CUTTING INSERT AND MILLING TOOL
A cutting insert includes a first and a second pair of opposing side surfaces. As seen towards a first side surface, a first axial relief face and a first axial abutment face form part of a first surface grouping on a first side of a longitudinal plane. As seen towards a second side surface, a second axial relief face and a second axial abutment face form part of a second surface grouping on the first side of the longitudinal plane. The first axial abutment face forms a substantially flat surface and extends perpendicularly to a median plane of the insert. The second axial abutment face forms a substantially flat surface and extends perpendicularly to the median plane. A second side surface of the first pair of opposing side surfaces has a first and a second radial abutment face.
Tangentially mounted indexable cutting insert with segmented cutting edge and triangular-shaped margin
A cutting insert having two opposing end surfaces, two identical opposing major side surfaces and two identical opposing minor side surfaces. Each end surface has four corners with two lowered corners and two raised corners, the two lowered corners being diagonally opposite each other, the two raised corners being diagonally opposite each other. The cutting insert also includes a major cutting edge formed at an intersection of each major edge and the end surface. A first section of the major cutting edge proximate the raised corner constitutes a leading end of the major cutting edge, and a second section of the major cutting edge proximate the lowered corner constitutes a trailing end of the major cutting edge. An angled margin only partially extends along the leading end of the major cutting edge and segments the major cutting edge.
Tangentially mounted indexable cutting insert with convex-shaped minor side surfaces and concave-shaped end surfaces
A cutting insert having two opposing end surfaces, two identical opposing major side surfaces and two identical opposing minor side surfaces. Each end surface of the insert has a concave-shaped seating surface for contacting the insert pocket the insert pocket along an entire length of the cutting insert. The minor side surfaces are convex-shaped. The concave-shaped seating surface and the convex-shaped minor side surfaces enable the cutting insert to be accurately tangentially mounted in the insert pocket.
Tool body and cutting tool
A tool body having an insert seat and a cutting tool which allow a cutting insert to be stably held are provided. A tool body according to the present invention is a tool body having an insert seat for mounting a cutting insert on the tool body, wherein the insert seat has a base surface and a side wall surface which extends so as to intersect with the base surface. The base surface has a contact surface and a contact projected part which come into contact with the cutting insert. A contact part of the contact surface is comprised of a surface, and a contact part of the contact projected part has a linear shape or a point shape.
Cutting insert
A cutting insert of the present disclosure includes a top surface, a bottom surface, a side surface, and a corner cutting edge, a first cutting edge, a second cutting edge and a third cutting edge formed at a ridge line formed by the side surface and the top surface. The corner cutting edge has a first end and a second end. The first cutting edge extends from the first end in a first direction. The second cutting edge extends from the second end in a second direction. The third cutting edge extends from the second cutting edge in a third direction. The top surface has a first rake face adjacent to the first cutting edge, a second rake face adjacent to the second cutting edge, and a third rake face adjacent to the third cutting edge.
Cutting insert
The present disclosure provides a cutting insert that is economical and can be stably fixed to a tool body. A first edge line (10R) of a cutting insert (2) is a rectangle having a first side (11) and a third side (13) as long sides and a second side (12) and a fourth side (14) as short sides. Cutting edges are formed at the first side (11), the second side (12) and the third side (13); on the other hand no cutting edge is formed at the fourth side (14). At a second edge line (20R) having the same shape as the first edge line (10R), a sixth side (22) where a cutting edge is formed is opposite to the fourth side (14), and an eighth side (24) where a cutting edge is not formed is opposite to the second side (12). A peripheral side surface (30) includes a fourth side surface (34) facing the fourth side (14) and the sixth side (22).
