Probiotic immunomodulatory compositions

The invention discloses an immunomodulatory composition comprising non-culturable bacteria, a method of production and an article and an apparatus for its use and administration.

METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR EMBOLIZATION

This disclosure relates to methods and materials for embolization of one or more blood vessels (e.g., one or more arteries). For example, biomaterial compositions (e.g., BEM compositions containing PRF and one or more nanoclay materials) for embolization of one or more blood vessels (e.g., one or more arteries) within a mammal (e.g., a human) are provided.

Microalgae-based compositions for benefiting plants and methods of application

The present disclosure provides a method of increasing aggregation in a soil comprising the step of administering to the soil an amount of a microalgae material to increase aggregation in the soil compared to a substantially identical untreated soil, wherein the microalgae material comprises Chlorella cells and/or Schizochytrium cells. Also disclosed is a method of enhancing the active carbon score of a soil, comprising administering an amount of a microalgae material to the soil to increase the active carbon score of the soil compared to a substantially identical untreated soil, wherein the microalgae material comprises Chlorella cells and/or Schizochytrium cells.

Clay delivery systems for providing antimicrobial compositions are provided. The delivery systems include a two-part active excipient system that delivers clay for various applications of use, including topical applications. The two-part delivery system can include a first part comprising suspending agent(s), poloxamer and optionally a gellant, and a second part that is simultaneously delivered therewith comprising one or more nonionic EO-PO block copolymers in a water-based system. The delivery systems beneficially provide clays in a stable system that also unexpectedly accelerate the release of the clay into the water system for activation and delivery that is enhanced by the poloxamers into the tissue or organ of the body in need of treatment thereof.

BI-FUNCTIONAL CO-POLYMER USE FOR OPHTHALMIC AND OTHER TOPICAL AND LOCAL APPLICATIONS

The invention contemplates a copolymer which is a graft or block copolymer useful to change wettability and surface characteristics of biological surfaces. Methods for use of these formulations and coatings to change wettability and sterically stabilize, and lubricate biological surfaces in a subject, for example, in the treatment of dry eye syndrome, and to prevent adherence of unwanted proteins, for example in the treatment of contact lens intolerance, are provided.
