To this end, a double-sided cutting insert having a high feed rate according to the present invention comprises: two main surfaces that face in opposite directions; two shorter side surfaces, which connect between the two main surfaces, and which face in opposite directions; two longer side surfaces, which connect between the two main surfaces and between the two shorter side surfaces, which face in opposite directions, and the width of which is larger than that of the shorter side surfaces; and a fastening hole that extends through the two longer side surfaces such that a cutting tool fastening bolt is inserted therein, wherein the double-sided cutting insert having a high feed rate comprises a shorter cutting edge provided on a boundary portion between each of the main surfaces and each of the shorter side surfaces, a longer cutting edge provided on a boundary portion between each of the main surfaces and each of the longer side surfaces, and a corner cutting edge that connects between the shorter cutting edge and the longer cutting edge, and the shorter cutting edge has a curved shape that is outwardly convex, when the same is viewed from a direction of the main surfaces.
CUTTING INSERT AND CUTTING EDGE-INTERCHANGEABLE ROTARY CUTTING TOOL
This cutting insert has: as cutting edges, arcuate cutting edges that are of an arc shape protruding toward an outer circumference side of a distal end. A chisel part is formed at an intersecting ridge line part between the flank faces of the pair of arcuate cutting edges. A round honing is formed on the cutting edge tip of the arcuate cutting edge at least in a range where a radial angle is 30 or less. A curvature radius of the round honing in a cross section perpendicular to the edge length direction of the arcuate cutting edge is 20 to 40 m. A chisel angle formed between the distal end part of the arcuate cutting edge and a chisel edge of the chisel part is 150 to 170 as seen in an insert front view.
Indexable cutting insert for an end mill tool and an end mill tool provided with such an insert
An indexable cutting insert has a first corner edge forming a front tip of a cutting edge portion configured to project furthest in the direction of an axis of rotation of an end mill tool receiving the insert. A major cutting edge is descending to come closer to the lower surface of the insert along its extension away from the first corner edge. The minor cutting edge extends from the first corner edge while descending from a point of the cutting edge portion most distant to the lower surface all the way to an inner corner of the insert and has a length of 80%-95% of the length of the major cutting edge including a second corner edge in a side elevation view of the cutting insert.
Indexable tangential cutting inserts and cutting tool holders
Cutting tool systems including a tool holder and tangential cutting inserts are disclosed. The tangential cutting inserts have indexable cutting edges that may be sinusoidal-shaped and helical-shaped. The tangential cutting inserts have integrated fan and base portions. The tool holders comprise a plurality of insert pockets structured and arranged to receive the indexable tangential cutting inserts. The cutting tool systems provide cutting tools with effectively longer sinusoidal and helical cutting edges at their cutting rake faces and a strong support when seating in insert-receiving pockets on the tool holder.
CUTTING INSERT AND INDEXABLE CUTTING TOOL
A cutting insert includes a polygonal plate-shaped insert main body having two polygonal surfaces, a side surface having a flank, and a cutting edge to be formed in an intersection ridgeline portion between a rake face and the flank. The insert main body has a rotationally symmetrical shape with respect to an insert center line, and has a front-rear reversely symmetrical shape with respect to the polygonal surface. The cutting edge includes a corner cutting edge, a major cutting edge extending from an one end of the corner cutting edge, and a wiper cutting edge extending from an one end of the major cutting edge in a direction intersecting the major cutting edge at an obtuse angle. A first region is disposed where a clearance angle of the flank gradually decreases to a negative angle after continuously passing through 0 from a positive angle.
Cutting insert and cutting tool
The present invention provides a cutting insert in which suitable honing is formed on a cutting edge. The cutting insert is provided with: two end surfaces opposing each other; a peripheral side surface extending between the two end surfaces; and a cutting edge formed on an intersecting ridge between at least one of the two end surfaces and the peripheral side surface. The cutting edge at least includes a major cutting edge and an inner cutting edge. Honing is provided on the major cutting edge and the inner cutting edge. A width of second honing of the inner cutting edge is narrower than a width of first honing of the major cutting edge, as viewed from a side of the end surfaces.
SINGLE-SIDED HIGH FEED CUTTING INSERT AND CUTTING TOOL EQUIPPED WITH SAME
The technical problem to be solved by the present disclosure is to provide a single-sided high feed cutting insert which can have increased edge strength and reduced cutting load so as to be suitable for high feed machining. To this end, the single-sided high feed cutting insert of the present disclosure comprises: a short cutting edge disposed between a major surface and a short lateral surface; a long cutting edge disposed between the major surface and a long lateral surface; and a corner cutting edge disposed between the short cutting edge and the long cutting edge, wherein the short cutting edge has an outwardly convex curved shape when viewed from the major surface, and a minor surface has a straight shape when viewed from the short and long lateral surfaces, respectively.
