COLLAGEN DAILY WITH ENZYME INHIBITORS FOR ANTI-AGING
A formulation of Collagen peptides with enzyme inhibitors and hyaluronic acid would increase the levels of collagen and elastin and hyaluronic acid for a long period of time, and would decrease the rate of aging, and age-related changes in the skin and other organs. During aging, the levels of these molecules decrease because of enhanced activities of their respective enzymes. Current approach has utilized collagen peptides alone to increase the levels of collagen and elastin in order to maintain healthy skin. In the absence of inhibitors of enzymes collagenase and elastase, and hyaluronic acid, the levels of collagen peptides, elastin, and hyaluronic acid would decrease. Consequently, the beneficial effects of collagen peptides alone would be reduced within a short period of time.

A pharmaceutical composition comprising an active agent that causes reduction of the level of systemic immunosuppression in an individual for use in treating a disease, disorder, condition or injury of the CNS that does not include the autoimmune neuroinflammatory disease, relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), is provided. The pharmaceutical composition is for administration by a dosage regimen comprising at least two courses of therapy, each course of therapy comprising in sequence a treatment session followed by an interval session of non-treatment.

The invention provides anelastase inhibitor for use in the promotion of muscle regeneration in the treatment of a myopa-thy, as well as a method for promoting muscle regeneration in a subject with a myopathy, the method comprising providing the subject with a therapeutically effective amount of an elastase inhibitor. Further provided is a pharmaceutical composition comprising anelastase inhibitor for use in the promotion of muscle regeneration in the treatment of a myopathy. Elastase inhibitors may have a protective effect on muscle progenitor cells and their regenerative potential, which aids muscle cell regeneration. By protecting regenerative potential of muscle progenitor cells, elastase inhibitors enable or enhance the grown of new or existing muscle fibres.
EFFICACY OF AN ANTI-C5 ANTIBODY IN THE PREVENTION OF ANTIBODY MEDIATED REJECTION IN SENSITIZED RECIPIENTS OF KIDNEY TRANSPLANT
A method for preventing AMR in a human kidney transplant recipient is provided. The method comprises: selecting a deceased donor; selecting a kidney transplant recipient; transplanting the kidney from the donor to the recipient; and administering a therapeutically effective dose of an anti-C5 antibody or fragment thereof to the recipient. The recipient is generally sensitized to the donor. Also provided is a method for treating AMR in a kidney transplant patient. The method comprises: selecting a kidney transplant patient having symptoms of AMR; and administering a therapeutically effective dose of an anti-C5 antibody or fragment thereof to the patient; wherein the dose of the anti-C5 antibody or fragment thereof reduces the symptoms of AMR.

The bioremodelable pouch structure is configured and sized to receive, encase and retain an electrical medical device therein and to allow such device to be inserted into the internal region or cavity of the pouch structure; with the pouch structure formed from either: (a) first and second sheets, or (b) a single sheet having first and second sheet portions. After receiving the electrical device, the edges around the opening are closed by suturing or stapling. The medical device encased by the bioremodelable pouch structure effectively improves biological functions by promoting tissue regeneration, modulated healing of adjacent tissue or growth of new tissue when implanted in the body of the mammal.
