Insert for a table saw
A dust collection system designed for a table saw is disclosed. The dust collection system includes a dust shroud and dust shield to channel dust generated by a blade as it cuts wood or other material. The dust shroud includes fins and walls to peel dust and air off a spinning blade and direct the dust and air downward. The dust shroud encloses the lower front portion of a blade. An insert with a channel into which a dust shield can extend is disclosed.
Slide mechanism and rip fence of table saw
A table saw includes a slide mechanism on a table assembly and including a knob, front and rear roller pinions, two slides slidably secured to front and rear ends of the table respectively, each slide having a bottom rack engaging the roller pinion, a groove on an outer surface, and projections projecting out of the groove, front and rear mounting members secured to the table, and an axle; and a rip fence assembly on either side of the table assembly and including front and rear arms each having a cavity for releasably securing to one projection, a rip fence between the arms, front and rear risers respectively for fastening either end of the rip fence and either one of the front and rear arms, and two levers on the arms respectively, each lever including an upper pivot, an intermediate urging protuberance, and a lower protrusion.
TABLE SAW INSERT WITH LOCK-DOWN MECHANISM
Inserts for table saws are disclosed. The table inserts are equipped with a toolless locking mechanism that mechanically holds the insert in place and which allows for the installation and removal of the insert without the use of tools. The locking mechanism is easy to lock and unlock and yet robust enough to hold a zero-clearance insert in place.
Universal extension for work surfaces of bench top power tools and work benches
An extension is configured to be removably coupled to a base of a bench top power tool or work bench by a connection such that an upper surface of the extension is coplanar with a work surface of the bench top power tool or work bench. The extension is configured to be movably coupled to the base to support workpieces of varying shape and size that do not fit easily on the work surface.
Stop mechanism for a table saw and method of using the same
A table saw includes at least one stop mechanism for setting or recording a position of a guide assembly on the table saw. The stop mechanism has a base member and a blocking member connected to the base member. The base member is connected to a guide structure on the table saw in an unlocked state and a locked state. In the unlocked state, the base member is infinitely adjustable relative to the guide structure along a slide axis. In the locked state, the base member is fixed relative to the guide structure. The blocking member is moveable relative to the base member between a blocking position and a bypass position. The blocking member in the blocking position is configured to contact the guide assembly and set or record a position of the guide assembly. The blocking member in the bypass position cannot contact the guide assembly.
Table saw with two stage table extension system
A table saw includes a base assembly, a saw assembly, which is supported by the base assembly and includes a saw, and a table assembly supported by the base assembly. The table assembly includes a rip fence, a table extension system, and a table top defining an opening through which the saw extends. The table extension system includes a first stage assembly supported by the table top and movable relative to the table top between a first stage retracted position and a first stage extended position, and a second stage assembly supported by the first stage assembly and movable relative to the first stage assembly between a second stage retracted position and a second stage extended position. The rip fence is supported by and movable relative to the second stage assembly.
Table saws
Table saws and features for table saws are disclosed. Some of the disclosed features are particularly relevant to portable table saws such as jobsite and bench-top table saws. Disclosed features include, but are not limited to, extendable rails, mechanisms to lock rails in position, drawers, compartments and components to store table saw accessories, switch boxes, dust collection systems, table saw housings, tables, and handles.
Positioning device for a miter saw
A positioning device for a miter saw includes a working table, an elastic member, and a lever member. The elastic member has a movable portion adapted to be adjacent to a scale disc of the miter saw, and a protruding portion. The lever member is disposed in the working table, and has a linking portion connected to the movable portion, and a handle portion movable to convert the elastic member from a locking state for engaging the protruding portion with one of notches in a scale disc of the miter saw so that the working table is non-rotatable, to a releasing state for moving the movable portion away from the scale disc so that, the protruding portion is disengaged from the one of the notches to permit rotation of the working table.
Miter saw with improved carrying mode
A miter saw has a base assembly and a rotatable table disposed on the base assembly. The rotatable table is rotatable about a substantially vertical miter axis and has a substantially horizontal workpiece-supporting plane. A saw assembly is connected to the table and includes a blade. The blade is movable downwardly from a first position where the blade is above the workpiece-supporting plane to a second position where a portion of the blade is below the workpiece-supporting plane. The base assembly has a top surface and a first handle disposed on the top surface, with a first hole on the top surface extending through the base assembly, the first hole being configured to allow a user to extend the user's hand therethrough and grip the first handle.
ROTATABLE FILTER SYSTEM AND METHODOLOGY
Various aspects of an apparatus are disclosed. In a particular aspect, an apparatus comprising a cylindrical filter, a filter cleaning knob, and a filter cleaning flap is disclosed. Within such embodiment, the filter cleaning knob is configured to rotate the cylindrical filter. The filter cleaning flap is coupled to the cylindrical filter and configured to sequentially make contact with a plurality of pleated segments of the cylindrical filter as the filter cleaning knob is rotated.
