Reciprocating saw
A power tool includes a housing, a motor, and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a driven gear that is rotated by the motor. The driven gear is vertically-oriented within the housing and has an upper portion and a lower portion. The drive mechanism also includes a connecting rod coupled to the driven gear to translate rotary motion of the driven gear into reciprocating motion, and an output shaft coupled to the connecting rod to reciprocate relative to the housing through a cutting stroke and a return stroke. The drive mechanism further includes a counterweight coupled to the driven gear for rotation with the driven gear. The counterweight moves through the upper portion of the driven gear during the cutting stroke of the output shaft, and moves through the lower portion of the driven gear during a return stroke of the output shaft.
Saw blade clamping device
A saw blade clamping device is configured to clamp at least two types of saw blades and includes a clamping seat and an operating member. The clamping seat has a connecting portion and a loading portion with a loading slot. The operating member has an operating portion with assembling and loading ends. The operating portion is assembled around the loading portion with the assembling end, and the loading end has a loading port. The operating member is rotatable relative to the loading portion. An inner wall of the operating member has a curved driving surface. An abutting element, disposed between the operating member and the clamping seat, has an abutting end, which can extend into the loading slot, and a driving end, which abuts against the driving surface. The abutting end is driven by the driving surface during rotation of the operating member to move into the loading slot.

RECIPROCATING CUTTING TOOL
A reciprocating cutting tool reduces dispersion of dust. The reciprocating cutting tool includes a reciprocation converter drivable by a motor, a rod-like slider connected to the reciprocation converter to be reciprocable, a blade holder at the front end of the slider to hold a blade, a power transmission housing housing the reciprocation converter and allowing the slider to protrude from its front end, a cover outward from the power transmission housing, and a fan rotatable together with a rotor in the motor. A first passage of cooling air from the fan is defined between the power transmission housing and the cover. The first passage branches into a second passage toward the blade holder and a third passage not toward the blade holder.

RECIPROCATING CUTTING TOOL
A reciprocating cutting tool switches stably between the on and off states of orbital action or between the degrees of orbital action. The reciprocating cutting tool includes a rod-like slider reciprocable in a front-rear direction, a blade holder at the front end of the slider, an orbital unit that causes the blade holder to perform orbital action vertically in response to reciprocation of the slider, and an orbital switcher that switches between orbital modes operable by the orbital unit. The orbital switcher includes a lever body extending laterally. The lever body includes a first flat surface to support the slider indirectly. The first support flat surface includes a first portion frontward from a lateral central axis of the lever body and a second portion rearward from the central axis.

Reciprocating power tool
It is an object of the invention to provide a technique for reducing vibration by counter weights which smoothly operate without linearly reciprocating, in a reciprocating power tool. The reciprocating power tool has first and second bevel gears 123, 147 which are opposed to each other on either side of a pinion 119 and rotationally driven in opposite directions at the same reduction ratio by the pinion 119. Further, the reciprocating power tool has a slider 107 which is caused to linearly reciprocate in a longitudinal direction of a tool bit 111 by a crank 129. The first and second bevel gears 123, 147 are provided with first and second counter weights 143, 145 in positions displaced from their rotation axes, respectively. When the first counter weight 143 and the second counter weight 145 revolve, components of the revolving motion in the longitudinal direction of the tool bit oppositely move with respect to linear motion of the slider 107, and the first counter weight 143 and the second counter weight 145 move in the same phase in the longitudinal direction of the tool bit 111 and are disposed on opposite sides of the rotation axis and at the same distance from the rotation axis in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the tool bit 111.
