OSCILLATING TOOL DRYWALL BLADE
An oscillating blade including a shank having a tool mounting end and a blade end, the shank defining a longitudinal shank axis extending from an oscillation axis of the tool mounting end, the longitudinal shank axis defining a longitudinal direction. The oscillating blade also includes a first shank extension extending from the blade end in a first lateral direction and having a first cutting edge directed in a first cutting direction, and a second shank extension extending from the blade end in a second lateral direction and having a second cutting edge directed in a second cutting direction. The oscillating blade also includes a shaving edge disposed on the blade end. The first shank extension is spaced from the second shank extension in the longitudinal direction, and the shaving edge is at least partially disposed between the first shank extension and the second shank extension in the longitudinal direction.
Safety system for a machine tool
A safety system is provided for a machine tool which has a frame and a tool. The safety system has a clamping device and a motion device. The clamping device is movable by the motion device from a working position, in which the tool is extended and can be used for working, to a safety position, in which the tool is retracted. The motion device has a first magnetic means connected to or arranged on the tool and a second magnetic means connected to or arranged on the frame, such that movement of the tool by the motion device from the working position to the safety position can be triggered and/or at least partially performed by magnetic force.
CIRCULAR SAW WITH ADJUSTABLE BASE
A circular saw including a base defining a longitudinal axis. The circular saw further includes a front bevel angle adjustment bracket proximate a front end of the base and a rear bevel angle adjustment bracket proximate a rear end of the base. The circular saw further includes a saw unit coupled to the base via the front bevel angle adjustment bracket and the rear bevel angle adjustment bracket. The circular saw further comprises a first fastener extending through a first elongated slot in one of the base or the front bevel angle adjustment bracket and a second fastener extending through a second elongated slot in one of the base or the rear bevel angle adjustment bracket. Each of the first and second elongated slots extends along a lateral axis oriented transverse to the longitudinal axis of the base to permit lateral adjustment of the saw unit relative to the base.
MACHINING DEVICES
A pressing member is rotatably supported by a fixing screw shaft via a ball bearing. The pressing member is made of synthetic resin and is larger in diameter compared to that of the fixing screw shaft. A connection bar is pressed by the pressing member by fastening the fixing screw shaft, and the position of the connection bar is thereby fixed. Because the pressing member has a large diameter, a dent is not generated on the connection bar. Furthermore, because the pressing member is not rotated in the fixed position, the position of the connection bar is not offset, enhancing the ability of fixing the connection bar with precise adjustment.
Method for controlling a device system having power tool and a motor-driven advancing mechanism
A method for controlling a device system (10) having a saw blade (14) that is attached to a saw arm (15) and that can be moved along an advancing direction (26) by a motor-driven advancing mechanism (13), whereby there is an infeed motion of the saw arm (15) with the saw blade (14) into the workpiece (18) and, during the infeed motion of the saw arm (15) into the workpiece (18), a control unit (27) calculates an arc length (φ) of the saw blade (14) that is engaged with the workpiece (18), and the calculated arc length (φ) is compared to a pre-set, critical arc length (φ.sub.crit) of the saw blade (14).
SAW ANGLE GAGE
A saw angle gage is a square or rectangular shaped platform with two (2) electrical contacts attached to one of the four sides of the platform. A battery and a light are mounted to the platform and wired together with the two (2) electrical contacts forming an isolated electrical circuit that is open between the two (2) electrical contacts. When both of the electrical contacts touch a current conducting object, the light will illuminate. When both electrical contacts touch a current conducting object and the full length of one of the adjacent sides of the platform touches a different object, the light will illuminate, indicating a right-angle relationship between the objects. When both electrical contacts touch a current conducting object and the full length of the opposite side of the platform touches a different object, the light will illuminate, indicating a parallel relationship between the objects.
Cut-length indicating device for a hand power tool
A cut-length indicating device for a hand power tool includes at least one guide unit configured to moveably guide at least one movably mounted and electrically operated indicating element. The device also includes at least one electric power supply unit configured to supply electric current to the at least one indicating element. The at least one guide unit and the at least one electric power supply unit are configured so as to be partially integral with each other.
Method for Controlling a Wall Saw System When Making a Separating Cut
A method for controlling a wall saw system during creation of a separation cut in a workpiece between a first and second end point, is disclosed. The separation cut is carried out in a plurality of main cuts. In addition to the main-cut sequence, an overcut sequence having at least two overcuts is defined for each end point defined as a free end point. For each overcut sequence, a starting position and an end position are defined, the overcuts being carried out therebetween. The wall saw is positioned in the starting position and is pivoted into a first overcut angle; subsequently, the saw head is moved by way of the inclined saw arm until the end position has been reached. The wall saw is displaced back into the starting position and pivoted into a second overcut angle. This sequence is repeated until all of the overcuts have been carried out.
Blade sharpening system
A blade sharpening system may include a sharpening tool for sharpening a workpiece. The system may also include a sharpening fixture having a mounting surface for mounting a workpiece to be sharpened by the sharpening tool. The mounting surface may be disposed on a sled that is movable along a sharpening path that passes under a sharpening implement that may be mounted to a movable arm of the sharpening tool when the arm is in an engaged position. The movement of the sled may be coupled to the movement of the arm such that moving the arm from a disengaged position to the engaged position initiates the sled to move in a first direction along the sharpening path and moving the arm from the engaged position to the disengaged position initiates the sled to move along the sharpening path in a second direction.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EFFICIENT MATERIAL MEASUREMENT AND CONVERSION
Exemplary embodiments of a “Smart Cut” system and method for efficiently and accurately converting material length using a powered saw, such as a miter saw, are disclosed. Certain embodiments are configured such that a user of a miter saw may position a board or other material beneath the miter saw blade, and cut the material to a desired length, without any need to mark a measurement on the material prior to cutting it. It is an advantage of certain embodiments that a typical retractable tape measurement device, a portable tool that is ubiquitous in the construction industry, may be leveraged to indicate proper positioning of the material prior to cutting.
