BAND SAW BLADE

A bimetal band saw blade has a cutting edge with a plurality of cutting teeth defining repeating, variable pitch patterns and variable set patterns within pitch patterns. Each relatively heavy set tooth defines a first primary clearance angle, and each unset and relatively light set tooth defines a second primary clearance angle. Each first primary clearance angle is less than or equal to about 20, each second primary clearance angle is less than or equal to about 25, and each first primary clearance angle is within the range of about 4 to about 6 less than each second primary clearance angle. Each unset or light set tooth defines a greater gullet area than a respective heavy set tooth and/or a finer pitch than the respective heavy set tooth. Each tooth defines a positive rake angle within the range of about 3 to about 10.

A saw blade can include a blade body having a cutting edge defined by multiple teeth. The teeth can be disposed in a repeating pattern including a raker tooth, a first set tooth having a light offset to a right side of the blade body, a second set tooth having a heavy offset to the left side of the blade body, a second raker tooth, a third set tooth having a light offset to the left side, and a fourth set tooth having a heavy offset to the right side of the blade body. Each tooth can include a tip, rake face, gullet having a gullet depth, and one or more clearance surfaces. The pitch distance and gullet depth of the heavy offset teeth can be less than the pitch distances and gullet depths of the remaining teeth to provide an increased amount of strength for the heavy offset teeth.

MANUFACTURING METHOD OF BAND SAW BLADE AND BAND SAW BLADE REALIZING LONGER LIFETIME OF BODY MEMBER

There is provided a manufacturing method of a band saw blade, including: (a) a step of forming a plurality of saw tooth mounts equipped with cutting blade portions at tip end parts, on a band shaped member at appropriate intervals; and (b) a step of carrying out a chamfering processing by a material removing processing method, on both side edges of a tooth bottom surface in a garret portion formed between respective ones of said saw tooth mounts. By this, there is provided a band saw blade having a plurality of saw tooth mounts equipped with cutting blade portions at tip end parts, on a band shaped member at appropriate intervals, wherein both side edges of a tooth bottom surface in a garret portion formed between respective ones of said saw tooth mounts are chamfering processed by a material removing processing method.

A saw blade includes a body and a cutting portion coupled to an edge of the body. The cutting portion includes a plurality of cutting teeth. The plurality of cutting teeth includes a first tooth form with an abrasive grit and a second tooth form without an abrasive grit.

Blade for a reciprocating saw

A blade for use with a reciprocating saw includes an attachment portion configured to couple to the reciprocating saw and a body extending from the attachment portion. The body includes a first portion, a tip portion, and a second portion extending from the first portion to the tip portion. The first portion has a height between about 0.625 inches and about 1.0 inches and the second portion has a height between about 0.18 inches and about 0.25 inches. The blade also includes a blunt tip formed at a distal end of the tip portion. An overall length of the blade is between about 2.4 inches and about 3.25 inches, measured from a proximal edge of the attachment portion to the blunt tip. The blade also includes a plurality of teeth arranged along the second portion and defining a cutting edge.

Saw blade

A reciprocating saw blade includes a body, an attachment portion coupled to a first end portion of the body, and a cutting portion formed on the body. The cutting portion includes a plurality of cutting teeth. Each cutting tooth includes a tip, a rake face, and a relief surface. The tips of the plurality of cutting teeth define a plane. The saw blade also includes a plunge point formed on a second end portion of the body for initiating a plunge cut. The plunge point includes a leading tooth and a second tooth. The leading tooth includes a tip and a rake face and defines a leading gullet. The second tooth is positioned in the leading gullet closer to the leading tooth than to a nearest cutting tooth of the plurality of cutting teeth. The second tooth includes a tip that is spaced apart from the plane.

Method of manufacturing reciprocating saw blade

A method of manufacturing a reciprocating saw blade includes forming a body with a shank end configured to secure the blade with a reciprocating saw, a plunging end configured to enter a workpiece, and a cutting edge and opposite back edge extending between the shank end and the plunging end. The cutting edge is formed to include a plurality of teeth arranged in a repeating pattern that includes left set teeth and right set teeth, the plurality of additional teeth being substantially the same size as each other and as the third tooth, wherein the plurality of additional gullets are substantially the same size as each other, and wherein the enlarged first gullet is longer in an axial direction than each of the plurality of additional gullets.

A reciprocating saw blade including a body, an attachment portion, a cutting portion formed on the body including a plurality of cutting teeth, and a plunge point for initiating a plunge cut including a plunge tooth and a leading gullet between the plunge tooth and a first tooth of the plurality of cutting teeth. A first angle of the rake face of the plunge tooth is measured through the plunge tooth. A second angle of the rake face of the first cutting tooth is measured through the first cutting tooth. One of the first angle and the second angle is greater than 90 degrees and the other is less than 90 degrees. At least the first cutting tooth is set. The rake face defining the first angle is spaced from the rake face defining the second angle by a distance greater than the pitch of the plurality of cutting teeth.
