Reciprocating saw blade
A reciprocating saw blade includes an axially elongated blade body having a first end portion, a second end portion, a cutting edge extending from the first end portion to the second end portion, and an opposite back edge extending from the first end portion to the second end portion. An exposed first tang is coupled to the first end portion and is configured to removably mount the blade body in a blade holder of a powered reciprocating saw. An unexposed second tang is defined by a first score in the blade body between the first end portion and the second end portion. The first score is configured so that the second tang can be exposed by breaking off a first removable portion of the blade body at the first score. The second tang is configured to removably mount the blade body in a blade holder of a powered reciprocating saw when the second tang is exposed.
Load-sharing insert for cutting blade
A cutting blade with multiple body inserts, each comprising a load-sharing member and a flexible perimeter joint. These inserts reduce the magnitude of frictional forces acting on the blade's body. The load-sharing member, in particular, acts as a point contact between the material being cut, such as bone, and the cutting blade. As such, the frictional forces exerted act only on the load-sharing member as opposed to the entire body. By limiting the real contact area, the magnitude of friction generated during operation is reduced. Additionally, the load-sharing members create a thermally insulating space between the body and the material being cut. The functionality of these body inserts, however, relies on the flexible perimeter joint. The flexible perimeter joint isolates the effects of frictional forces to the load-sharing member by preventing direct contact between the load-sharing member and the surrounding body.
Band saw blade for cutting structural workpieces
A band saw blade may include a cutting edge defined by a number of teeth. Each tooth may include a tip, a rake face, a primary clearance surface defining a primary relief angle, a secondary clearance surface defining a secondary relief angle greater than the primary relief angle, a tertiary clearance surface defining a tertiary relief angle greater than the secondary relief angle, a first curvilinear protrusion formed between the secondary clearance surface and the tertiary clearance surface, a gullet surface, and a second curvilinear protrusion formed between the rake face and the gullet surface. The teeth may be spaced at varying pitch distances such that a difference between a minimum teeth per inch (TPI) based on a maximum pitch distance and a maximum TPI based on a minimum pitch distance is equal to or greater than 1, and may define a kerf width between 0.115 inches to 0.140 inches.
Band saw blade
A bimetal band saw blade has a cutting edge with a plurality of cutting teeth defining repeating, variable pitch patterns and variable set patterns within pitch patterns. Each relatively heavy set tooth defines a first primary clearance angle, and each unset and relatively light set tooth defines a second primary clearance angle. Each first primary clearance angle is less than or equal to about 20, each second primary clearance angle is less than or equal to about 25, and each first primary clearance angle is within the range of about 4 to about 6 less than each second primary clearance angle. Each unset or light set tooth defines a greater gullet area than a respective heavy set tooth and/or a finer pitch than the respective heavy set tooth. Each tooth defines a positive rake angle within the range of about 3 to about 10.
OSCILLATING TOOL DRYWALL BLADE
An oscillating blade for cutting or shaping sheet materials such as drywall, with a blade, a sharing portion, a depth gauge for determining depth of cut, a caliper portion for premarking sheet materials for a standard dimension cut, and a reverse direction blade.
Band saw blade with improved back edge
A band saw blade can include a body extending in an endless ribbon, a cutting edge with cutting teeth, a back edge opposite the cutting edge, and a series of notches formed in the back edge. The notches can at least include first, second and third different notches. The notches can be arranged in a repeating pattern and each can be continuously arcuate. The notches can extend into the back edge a first depth. The notches can be separated from one another by a first distance. The notches can have respective radii of curvature and the radii of curvature can be different from one another.
Dual interface for oscillating blades
A blade for oscillating tools includes lateral edges, a working edge that extends in a first direction, and a mounting portion. The mounting portion includes a first mounting configuration that defines a first center and a second mounting configuration that defines a second center, where the first center is spaced a distance away from the second center in a direction that is substantially orthogonal to the first direction in which the working edge extends or to a tangent of a center of curvature of the working edge. Both mounting configurations are configured to drive the same working edge.
Keyhole saw blade or sabre saw blade for a power tool
A keyhole saw blade or sabre saw blade for a power tool comprises a base blade having a cutting edge and a securing shank designed as one piece with the base blade. At least one impression is formed into the base blade or the securing shank.
Sample cutter
A sample cutting assembly includes a base block, a saw pressure plate, an external blade guide, and an internal blade guide. The cutter can be used to conveniently remove samples for Material testing to determine serviceability or material condition. Apparatuses and techniques for using the sample cutting assembly are also disclosed.
Reciprocating Saw Blade With Curved Cutting Edge
A reciprocating saw blade that includes an elongated blade body defining an inner end and a distal end, a cutting edge located on one side of the blade body and extending between the inner and distal ends thereof and a tang located at the inner end of the blade body. The tang projects from the blade body at an acute angle relative to a line tangent to an inner end of the cutting edge. The cutting edge includes a portion defining a substantially curved contour and optionally can include at least one further portion defining a non-curved contour.
