Saw blade

A reciprocating saw blade includes a body having a first end portion, a second end portion, and a plunge point formed on the second end portion of the body. The plunge point includes a leading tooth and a leading gullet. The leading tooth includes a rake face and a tip. The leading gullet includes a base extending from the rake face of the leading tooth to the plurality of cutting teeth. The plunge point includes a second tooth protruding from the base of the leading gullet. The second tooth includes a tip positioned further from the base of the leading gullet than the tip of the second tooth in a direction transverse to a longitudinal axis of the body. The cutting portion also includes a plurality of gullets formed between a plurality of cutting teeth. The leading gullet is larger than each gullet of the plurality of gullets.

Reciprocating saw blade

A reciprocating saw blade includes an axially elongated blade body having a first end portion, a second end portion, a cutting edge extending from the first end portion to the second end portion, and an opposite back edge extending from the first end portion to the second end portion. An exposed first tang is coupled to the first end portion and is configured to removably mount the blade body in a blade holder of a powered reciprocating saw. An unexposed second tang is defined by a first score in the blade body between the first end portion and the second end portion. The first score is configured so that the second tang can be exposed by breaking off a first removable portion of the blade body at the first score. The second tang is configured to removably mount the blade body in a blade holder of a powered reciprocating saw when the second tang is exposed.

Load-sharing insert for cutting blade

A cutting blade with multiple body inserts, each comprising a load-sharing member and a flexible perimeter joint. These inserts reduce the magnitude of frictional forces acting on the blade's body. The load-sharing member, in particular, acts as a point contact between the material being cut, such as bone, and the cutting blade. As such, the frictional forces exerted act only on the load-sharing member as opposed to the entire body. By limiting the real contact area, the magnitude of friction generated during operation is reduced. Additionally, the load-sharing members create a thermally insulating space between the body and the material being cut. The functionality of these body inserts, however, relies on the flexible perimeter joint. The flexible perimeter joint isolates the effects of frictional forces to the load-sharing member by preventing direct contact between the load-sharing member and the surrounding body.

Reciprocating Saw Blade for a Machine Tool

A reciprocating saw blade for a machine tool, in particular a jigsaw blade, includes a first row of saw teeth and a second row of saw teeth. The first and second rows of saw teeth are arranged at an angle to a longitudinal axis of the reciprocating saw blade. The angle of the first row of saw teeth opposes the angle of the second row of saw teeth. The reciprocating saw blade also includes a further row of saw teeth arranged between the first and second rows of saw teeth. The further row of saw teeth is set back, in particular suddenly set back, towards the longitudinal axis in relation to the first and second rows of saw teeth.

Saw blade

A saw blade contains a body, in particular of a hard material, having a cutting portion. The cutting portion has a length and a width and being provided along its length with a plurality of teeth which are formed by a plurality of grooves. Each tooth being formed by at least two grooves. There is a first plurality of grooves, the grooves of which are parallel to each other along a first direction and in that there is a second plurality of grooves, the grooves of which are parallel to each other in a second direction. The first direction and the second direction are inclined to each other such that along the length of the cutting portion at least one of the grooves of the first plurality of grooves is intersected by a groove of the second plurality of grooves.

Reciprocating Saw Blade

A reciprocating saw blade is provided including a blade cutting edge including a plurality of teeth and a plurality of gullets. At least a portion of the plurality of teeth each includes a rake face, a relief face, a tooth cutting edge, and at least one non-cutting tooth edge extending on a first side face transverse to the rake face and the relief face, and a second side face opposite the first side face and transverse to the rake face and the relief face, a first relief-side edge at a junction between the first side face and the relief face, and a second relief-side edge at a junction between the second side face and the relief face. At least one of the first and second relief-side edges includes a modified portion extending rearward from the rake face.

A reciprocating saw blade assembly that includes a drive blade and one or more side blades positionally coupled to the drive blade is disclosed. The drive blade may include a tang on a first end of the drive blade configured to removably couple to a reciprocating saw tool. A cutting edge may extend at least partially between the first end and a second end. The one or more side blades each may include a first end proximate and offset from the first end of the drive blade such that the tang of the drive blade is exposed, and a cutting edge that is at least partially between the first end and the second end of each side blade. The drive blade and the one or more side blades may be positionally coupled with at least two rivets extending through the drive blade and the one or more side blades.
