SAW BLADE
A reciprocating saw blade including a body, an attachment portion, a cutting portion formed on the body including a plurality of cutting teeth, and a plunge point for initiating a plunge cut. The plunge point including a leading tooth and a second tooth. The leading tooth includes a tip and a rake face and defines a leading gullet that extends from the rake face of the leading tooth to the plurality of cutting teeth. The second tooth is positioned in the leading gullet closer to the leading tooth than to a nearest cutting tooth of the plurality of cutting teeth. The reciprocating saw blade also includes a back portion extending between the attachment portion and the plunge point on a side of the body opposite the cutting portion. The back portion includes a first stepped portion and a second stepped portion that is angled relative to the first stepped portion.
Saw blade having thin film ceramic coating
A saw blade including a body and a plurality of teeth disposed on the body and defining a cutting portion. At least one tooth of the plurality of teeth have a substrate forming a tip of the at least one tooth. The saw blade further includes a thin film ceramic coating overlaying at least the substrate. The thin film ceramic coating has a greater strength than the substrate.

SAW BLADE HAVING THIN FILM CERAMIC COATING
A saw blade may include a body and a plurality of teeth disposed on the body. At least one tooth of the plurality of teeth includes a substrate forming a tip of the at least one tooth. The saw blade may further include a thin film ceramic coating overlaying at least the substrate and having a greater strength than the substrate. The substrate is edge prepped to refine a micro geometry of the plurality of teeth. The thin film ceramic coating is applied after the substrate is edge prepped and a thickness of the thin film ceramic coating varies at locations where the substrate is edge prepped.

SAW BLADE
A saw blade includes a body and a plurality of cutting teeth formed on the body. Each cutting tooth includes a tip at a first end of the cutting tooth, a rake face extending from the tip toward the body, a relief face extending from the tip toward a second end of the cutting tooth and sloping toward the body, and a projection at the second end of the cutting tooth and sloping away from the body. The saw blade also includes a plurality of gullets formed on the body between the plurality of cutting teeth. Each gullet forms an undercut portion between the body and the projection of each cutting tooth.

Inherently thin single width chain
An invention is disclosed comprising a cutting chain of links that pivot without longitudinal disarticulation, yet are connected without reliance on separate connections. Lateral dislocation of the links of the cutting chain is prevented by placement of the cutting chain in a channel, which guides the cutting chain along its operational path and provides resistance against normal load. The channel may be retractable and/or comprised of lubricious, heat absorbing materials. The blade may be flexible in order to cut a variable kerf. The invention further comprises a power train and drive train, designed to optimize the cutting chain for one of many applications.
SAW BLADE HAVING A SMALL SAW TOOTH
A saw tooth for a saw blade that is attached in a longitudinal direction thereof on the saw blade body to extend away, at least in part, from the saw blade body. The saw tooth is formed with a cutting-face part having a cutting face, a height of which extends in the longitudinal direction and a width of which extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction. The width of the cutting face is greater than a height of the cutting face.
