TREE BRANCH SUPPORT APPARATUS AND METHOD
A method and apparatus for shaping and lifting a plurality of trees of varying heights and denseness using a cost-effective, universal tree shaping system. The apparatus comprises a sprocket having a central aperture and scalloped recesses around a perimeter. The sprocket is mounted to the top portion of a telescoping pole, which may have an implement at the bottom for securing in the ground. The pole is telescoped to lengthen the pole such that the top of the pole is approximately at the top of the tree. The sprocket is located on the top of the pole, providing a fulcrum for each of a plurality of cables. The plurality of cables (ropes, twine, or the like) are passed over the sprocket, where each cable is passed over two diametrically opposed scalloped recesses and secured to first and second tree branches.
System for selecting plants from among a population of plants
Provided is a system (1) and method for identifying one or more plants in a population of two or more plants (4). The method includes monitoring one or more parameters of a plant (4) of the population and generating one or more time signals indicative of values of the one or more parameters. The signals are processed to calculate one or both of a transpiration rate of each plant and a rate of change of a transpiration rate over each of one or more time intervals. The plants are then ranked using an algorithm involving the calculated transpiration rates, and plants having a ranking above a predetermined ranking are identified. Further provided is a system for carrying out the method of the invention.
Tomato line FDSXJ11-6002
The invention provides seed and plants of tomato line FDSXJ11-6002. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds, and tissue cultures of tomato line FDSXJ11-6002 and to methods for producing a tomato plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another tomato plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such plants, including the fruit and gametes of such plants.
Sulfur Plasma Lamp
A sulfur plasma lamp has a lamp envelope of transparent or translucent glass or ceramic material. At least two silicon carbide electrodes are hermetically sealed with the lamp envelope and in contact with an interior of the lamp envelope. A quantity of sulfur within the interior of the lamp envelope is sufficient to create a sulfur plasma upon excitation. A buffer gas within the interior of the lamp envelope enables initial discharge and heating of the interior of the lamp envelope to excite the sulfur into a plasma state. More than two electrodes may be provided, and an electrical potential is created between different pairs of the electrodes at different times, thereby inducing stirring of the plasma upon excitation of the material into a plasma state.
Tomato hyrbid DR9544TH
The invention provides seed and plants of tomato hybrid DR9544TH and the parent lines thereof. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of tomato hybrid DR9544TH and the parent lines thereof, and to methods for producing a tomato plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another tomato plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such plants, including the fruit and gametes of such plants.
METHOD TO INCREASE CROP PLANT FOLIAGE PRODUCTIVITY
Methods and compositions are disclosed to improve biomass accumulation in Truncated Light-harvesting Antenna (TLA) crop plant canopies as compared to biomass accumulation measured in wild-type counterparts grown under the same high canopy-density, agronomic, and ambient sunlight conditions.
Equidistant hole marking device for blueberry cultivation in solar greenhouse
An equidistant hole marking device for blueberry cultivation in a solar greenhouse is provided, which relates to the field of hole spacing marking technologies. The device includes a trigger rod, and the trigger rod is L-shaped. Four groups of moving rods are disposed outside an inner rod, the moving rods are diamond, and the moving rods are made of a plastic material. A circular pressing member is fixed outside each group of the moving rods, an upper side and a lower side of each circular pressing member are inclined, and the circular pressing members are made of a plastic material. When discharging powder, the moving rods and the circular pressing members are controlled to move inside a storage member, so that caked powder is crushed and discharged smoothly, thereby to improve marking efficiency.
