TAPPING TOOL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A THREADED BORE
A tapping tool for producing a threaded bore having an internal thread in a workpiece. The tapping tool has a main cutting edge on its drill tip and a thread profile trailing in a tapping direction. The method has a tapping stroke in which the tapping tool is driven into the workpiece at a tapping feed rate in the tapping direction and at a tapping speed synchronized therewith and the main cutting edge of the tool produces a core hole bore and the tool thread profile forms an internal thread on the inner wall of the core hole bore. Chips are produced in the tapping stroke, which are conveyed out of the threaded bore in a chip removal direction opposite to the tapping direction and collide with thread flanks of the internal thread facing toward the chips to be removed.

A method for forming a thread with a predefined thread pitch and with a predefined thread profile in a workpiece, in which a tool is used, wherein, during working movement, a thread generating region forms a thread, wherein the tool is moved during a second working phase further into the workpiece in the same forwards direction as in the working movement, as far as a reversal point, wherein the decelerating movement comprises a rotational movement in the same rotational direction as in the working movement, wherein during the decelerating movement, the axial feed movement is controlled in dependence on the rotational angle of the rotational movement of the tool and wherein the axial feed of the tool during a complete revolution, is smaller in terms of amount than the thread pitchat least during part of the decelerating movement and is zero at the reversal point.

The multi-function tool described herein includes a case, a drive ratchet installed in the case, a threading die held within the case, a file attached to the case such that a working surface of the file is exposed, a wrench tool removably secured to the case by a wrench retaining feature formed in the case, socket tools removably secured to the case by socket retaining features formed in the case, and a bar extension tool removably secured to the case by a bar extension retaining feature formed in the case. The ratchet has a fitting exposed at the top of the case, and a toggle switch exposed at the bottom of the case. The bar extension tool is compatible with the socket tools, the fitting of the ratchet is compatible with the socket tools, and the fitting of the ratchet is compatible with the bar extension tool.

A tool for producing an internal thread in a workpiece pilot hole having a thread major diameter and a thread minor diameter, which tool has a thread-forming section, by which an internal thread profile can be produced in a pilot hole wall. The internal thread profile having the thread major diameter and a thread inner diameter. The tool has a drilling section, by which the thread inner diameter of the internal thread profile can be expanded to the thread minor diameter by machining. At least one, in particular exactly one chip groove is associated with the drilling section of the tool, by which chip groove the chips produced as the thread inner diameter is expanded to the thread minor diameter can be transported away.
THREAD MILLING CUTTER
The end cutting edges formed on the front end face of the tool body includes a first end cutting edge that is connected to the front end of the thread cutting edge, and a second end cutting edge that is connected to the first end cutting edge on the side closer to the axis, and is angled more toward the rear end than the first end cutting edge. The angle formed by an imaginary plane perpendicular to the axis and the first end cutting edge is set to 6 or less. The angle formed by the second end cutting edges and the imaginary plane perpendicular to the axis and is set to be greater than the angle formed by the first end cutting edges and the imaginary plane perpendicular to the axis.

A method for producing a tapped bore in a workpiece with a tap drill bit, which, at its drill bit tip, has a primary cutting edge and a thread profile trailing in a tap drilling direction. The method has a tap drilling stroke, in which the tap drill bit is driven into the workpiece with a tap drilling advance in the tap drilling direction and at a tap drilling rotational speed synchronized therewith, and the tool-primary cutting edge produces a core-hole bore, and the thread profile of the tool bit forms an inner thread at the inner wall of the core-hole bore. In the tap drilling stroke, shavings are produced, which are conveyed in a shavings discharge direction, which is oppositely directed to the tap drilling direction, out from the tapped bore and collide here with thread flanks of the inner thread that face the shavings that are discharged.
