Compositions and methods for making and using thermostable immunogenic formulations with increased compatibility of use as vaccines against one or more pathogens
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide novel compositions, methods of use and methods for single composition, multi-dose, thermostable vaccine formulations. In certain embodiments, the present disclosure provides compositions and methods for dehydrating immunogenic agents in the presence of glass-forming agents, and coating the particles formed by the glass-forming agents. In other embodiments, the present disclosure provides for generating compositions for administering an immunogenic composition to a subject multiple times using a single immunogenic composition capable of time-release administration. In other embodiments, single-dose immunogenic agent-containing particles can be directed to two or more pathogens. In other embodiments, incompatible immunogenic agents against two or more different pathogens of immunogenic agent-containing particles disclosed herein can be mixed together and coated for timed-release administration to produce single-administration formulations capable of eliciting an immune response to the two or more pathogens in a subject.
PRECISION GLYCOCONJUGATES AS THERAPEUTIC TOOLS
The present description relates to glycoconjugates, glycoconjugate immunogens and glycoconjugate vaccines comprising carbohydrate antigens coupled to immunogenic carrier proteins, or materials used for detection and screening of resulting antibodies. Improved methods of more directly and precisely conjugating carbohydrate antigens to free thiol groups of immunogenic carrier proteins are described, including click-chemistry approaches based on photocatalytic thiol-ene reactions.
Method of attacking target cells
A method of killing cells of a targeted cell type in a patient body that utilizes nanoparticles (10) having a first portion (12), which when exposed to a target portion (14) of a targeted cell type (16), binds to the target portion and a second portion (10A), joined to the first portion, and comprised of a low resistivity material. The nanoparticles are introduced into a contact area where they contact cells of the targeted cell type. Contemporaneously, the contact area is exposed to a varying magnetic field of insufficient strength to increase the temperature of any part of the patient body by more than ten degrees Celsius, but which creates a current (20) at the nanoparticles sufficient to disrupt function of the targeted cell type.
