Methods and systems using a smart torch with positional tracking in robotic welding
A system and method of electric arc welding that includes a welding apparatus having an electric arc welder torch with sensors to determine the absolute position of the torch tip and the relative position of the torch tip to the weld joint during automatic welding. Combining absolute and relative positional data can be used to adjust the path of the robot during automated or robotic welding in response to variations in the weld joint.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO SYNERGICALLY CONTROL A WELDING-TYPE OUTPUT DURING A WELDING-TYPE OPERATION
Methods and apparatus to synergically control a welding-type output during a welding-type operation are disclosed. An example welding-type power supply includes a power conversion circuit configured to convert input power to welding-type power and to output the welding-type power to a welding-type torch; a communication circuit configured to receive a control signal from a remote control device during a welding-type operation; and a control circuit configured to synergically control a voltage of the welding-type power and a wire feed speed based on the control signal.
Real time resistance monitoring of an arc welding circuit
A welding or additive manufacturing power supply includes output circuitry configured to generate a welding waveform, a current sensor for measuring a welding current generated by the output circuitry, a voltage sensor for measuring an output voltage of the welding waveform, and a controller operatively connected to the output circuitry to control the welding waveform, and operatively connected to the current sensor and the voltage sensor to monitor the welding current and the output voltage. A portion of welding waveform includes a controlled change in current from a first level to a second level different from the first level. The controller is configured to determine a circuit inductance from the output voltage and the controlled change in current, and further determine a change in resistance of a consumable electrode in real time based on the circuit inductance.
Welding Program Production System and Welding Program Production Method
Provided is a welding program production system that can increase efficiency of a welding operation by a welding robot. The welding program production system includes a display control unit that causes a plurality of candidate welding lines detected on the basis of an image of a photographed object to be welded to be displayed in superimposed relation on the image, an input receiving unit that receives an input to select the welding lines from among the plurality of candidate welding lines and an input to specify a welding order and a welding direction for each of the selected welding lines, and a program production unit that produces a welding program on the basis of the specified welding order and welding direction.
PROCESSING SYSTEM, PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A processing system according to an embodiment includes a processing device. The processing device receives a detection result of a reflected wave from a detector that includes multiple detection elements arranged in a first direction and a second direction crossing each other, and performs a probe that includes transmitting an ultrasonic wave toward a welding object and detecting the reflected wave. The processing device performs a first determination of determining a joint and a non-joint at multiple points along the first and second directions of the welding object based on the detection result. The processing device performs a second determination of determining an appropriateness of a result of the first determination by using a circularness of a first region based on the points determined to be joints.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO CONFIGURE A ROBOTIC WELDING SYSTEM
An example welding-type power supply includes: power conversion circuitry configured to convert input power to welding-type output power; auxiliary power output circuitry configured to output auxiliary power via an auxiliary power connection; communications circuitry configured to communicate via the auxiliary power connection; and processor(s) configured to: detect, via the communications circuitry, that a robot control system is coupled to the auxiliary power connection; and in response to detecting the robot control system, configuring the welding-type power supply based on receiving a communication from the robot control system via the communications circuitry.

A robot teaching system includes: a photographing unit that photographs an image including a welding target and a marker installed on an industrial robot; a camera coordinate system setting unit that sets a camera coordinate system on a basis of the marker included in the image; an operation path setting unit that sets an operation path of the industrial robot on a basis of a welding position of the welding target included in the image in the camera coordinate system; and a program generation unit that generates a working program, while converting the set operation path from the camera coordinate system into a robot coordinate system set in a robot control apparatus on a basis of a position of the marker installed on the industrial robot. The robot teaching system generates a working program allowing appropriate welding at a welding position.
Weld training simulations using mobile devices, modular workpieces, and simulated welding equipment
Systems for simulating joining operations, such as welding, are disclosed. In some examples, a system may use a mobile device for conducting welding simulations, such as for purposes of training. In some examples, the system may additionally, or alternatively, use modular workpieces. In some examples, the system may additionally, or alternatively, conduct the welding simulation based on one or more selected pieces of welding equipment.
System and method for inductance compensation in a welding-type system
Systems and methods for inductance compensation in a welding-type system include a reel configured to wind a welding-type cable to reduce a first portion of the welding-type cable extending from the reel, and to unwind to increase the first portion of the welding-type cable extending from the reel, wherein a second portion of the welding-type cable is at least partially wound around the reel when stored. A controller determines a first length of the first portion of the welding-type cable, calculates a first inductance of the first portion of welding-type cable extending from the reel based on the first length, determines a second length of the second portion of the welding-type cable, calculates a second inductance of the second portion of welding-type cable wound around the reel based on the second length, and calculates a cable inductance of the welding-type cable based on the first inductance and the second inductance.
Power supply system, power supply device, and control method
A power supply system includes multiple power supply devices including a first power supply device and a second power supply device that are connected in common to a load. The first power supply device calculates control information for controlling voltage or current to be output to the load and source information for obtaining the control information, and controls the output to the load based on the calculated control information while transmitting the source information to the second power supply device. The second power supply device receives the source information transmitted from the first power supply device, calculates control information based on the received source information, and controls the output to the load while detecting current to be output from itself to the load and transmitting current information to the first power supply device.
