20200306860 · 2020-10-01 ·

A method of manufacturing using an additive manufacturing process includes providing a deposition system, the deposition system configured to provide a plurality of cells to form a blank of a part, depositing a first layer of the blank, the first layer comprising a first deposited cell, a second deposited cell spaced apart from the first deposited cell, and a third deposited cell spaced apart from the first deposited cell and the second deposited cell, and depositing a second layer of the part on the first layer, the second layer comprising a fourth deposited cell, a fifth deposited cell spaced apart from the fourth deposited cell, and a sixth deposited cell spaced apart from the fourth deposited cell and the fifth deposited cell. Each of the first layer and the second layer are formed using non-continuous deposition to form the blank.

WELDING WIRE

The present invention relates to a welding wire including a solid wire of metal that has a tensile strength of 800 MPa or more, in which the welding wire has a cast of 300 mm or more and a helix of 20.0 mm or less. The welding wire may include a coating layer including Cu or a Cu alloy on an outer periphery of the solid wire.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR REPAIRING A TUBULAR STRUCTURE
20200290145 · 2020-09-17 ·

Apparatuses and methods for repairing a defect in a nuclear reactor are provided. The apparatus includes a body for insertion in a tubular structure, the body includes: an end effector having a weld torch operable to deposit weld material by forming molten weld droplets and depositing the weld droplets the tubular structure. A drive unit includes a brace for selectively anchoring against said tubular structure; at least one linear actuator for moving the apparatus relative to the brace; and a rotational actuator coupled to rotate the weld torch. The method includes inserting a repair apparatus into tubular structure of the nuclear reactor; moving the repair apparatus to a defect location; depositing a protective weld layer over the defect by sequentially depositing weld droplets atop a weld pool on the tubular structure, wherein the protective weld layer bonds to the tubular structure surrounding the defect.

Spool gun adapter

The present disclosure provides a welding system having a welder, a welding gun, and a welding gun adapter, the welding gun being a spool gun with an attached motor. The welding gun adapter receives welding power from the welder, and converts it to output power suitable for driving the motor of the welding gun. The welding gun adapter also uses received welding power from the welder for control power. The present techniques allow for the use of welding guns requiring motor power to be used with any ordinary welder.

Weld cable communications controller module
10758994 · 2020-09-01 · ·

The present invention is directed to a system and method of remotely controlling a welding machine with command signals transmitted to the welding power source across a weld cable connecting the power source to a remote device, such a wire feeder. A transmitter transmits the control commands containing desired welding operational parameters to a receiver disposed in the power source across a weld cable also designed to carry welding power from the power source to the wire feeder.

Handling apparatus for performing a TIG weld with regulation of speed of the fed wire

A handling apparatus for performing a TIG weld comprises a main body for holding a filler rod; a feeding device attached to the main body and configured to advance the filler rod during welding; a control unit configured to act on the feeding device and to regulate the speed of the filler rod.

ARC WELDING METHOD
