20230123697 · 2023-04-20 ·

Disclosed is a therapeutic patch for the gastrointestinal tract including a mucoadhesive material along with magnetic nanoparticles and a drug to be delivered to a living body, which are supported on the mucoadhesive material. A method of manufacturing the therapeutic patch for the gastrointestinal tract is also provided and includes preparing a mucoadhesive polymer, preparing a catechol precursor, mixing the mucoadhesive polymer and the catechol precursor, freeze-drying a mixture in the mixing step, mixing a powder resulting from the freeze-drying step with magnetic nanoparticles and a drug, and subjecting the resultant mixture to molding using a mold and then freeze-drying.

Method for increasing permeability of blood-brain barrier

The present invention relates to a method for increasing the blood-brain barrier permeability, and more particularly, to a method for increasing the blood-brain barrier permeability, the method including: (S1) a step of delivering a nanogenerator carrying a nitric oxide (NO) donor to a site adjacent to the blood-brain barrier; (S2) a step of delivering a first triggering stimulus to an area where the nanogenerator has been delivered so as to release nitric oxide from the nanogenerator; and (S3) a step of allowing the released nitric oxide to activate matrix metallopeptidase-9 (MMP-9) and inducing the activated MMP-9 to weaken the tight junction between a cerebrovascular endothelial cell and another cerebrovascular endothelial cell.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR APPLYING PULSED ELECTRIC FIELDS WITH HIGH UNIFORMITY USING CHARGED RING STRUCTURES
20230075948 · 2023-03-09 · ·

A device, system and method for generating pulsed electric fields with high uniformity are provided. The electric fields occupy a large volume, suitable for placing a human or animal patient. A device for generating the electric fields is provided, which comprises a plurality of ring structures made of an electrically conductive material, wherein the ring structures are charged to different voltage levels. The device generates an electric field of high uniformity in the interior region of the ring structures when pulsed with electrical currents. These electric field pulses, when used in conjunction with pharmacological agents, destroy cancer cells through a process called targeted osmotic lysis.

Phospholipid compounds and formulations

The present disclosure provides phospholipid-containing compounds, pharmaceutical compositions and microspheres that exhibit high affinity for mineralized metals. The present disclosure also provides strategies for using said compounds, compositions and microspheres in the treatment of nephrolithiasis or kidney stone disease, and methods of manufacturing and preparing said compounds and compositions.

ULTRASOUND-ASSISTED DRUG DELIVERY CARRIER USING ULTRASOUND CONTRAST AGENT CONTAINING LIGAND CONJUGATED WITH DRUG THROUGH ESTER BOND

Proposed are an ultrasound-assisted drug delivery carrier containing a ligand linked with a drug through an ester bond, a phospholipid, and a PEGylated phospholipid, a composition for drug delivery including the drug delivery carrier, and a method of preventing or treating a disease including administering the composition to an individual other than a human and releasing a drug by subjecting the site of administration of the composition to ultrasound irradiation. The ultrasound-assisted drug delivery carrier containing a ligand linked with a drug through an ester bond, a phospholipid, and a PEGylated phospholipid can be provided in the form of microbubbles or nanobubbles, and is capable of accelerating drug release due to collapse of the bubbles and promotion of hydrolysis of the ester bond during ultrasound irradiation, making it possible to deliver the drug to a desired site with high efficiency.
