Welding torch, welding system, method of producing a welding torch as well as computer- readable medium

A welding torch (18) for a welding system (10) includes a substantially spherical main body (20) that has an integrated coolant chamber (60) which is in fluid communication with at least one coolant port (62). The substantially spherical main body (20) is a joint head (22) of a ball joint (24) of the welding system (10). A welding system (10) includes a torch bracket (16) and the welding torch (18). The torch bracket (16) has a socket (26, 28) of a ball joint (24), and the socket (26, 28) receives the substantially spherical main body (20) of the welding torch (18) in a spherically orientable manner thereby forming the ball joint (24).

Automatic welding machine

Automatic welding machine includes: a welding torch mounted to a link actuation device set on a mount; and a one-or-more-axes linear motion actuator which causes the link actuation device to advance and retract relative to the mount. The link actuation device includes: a proximal end side link hub disposed on the mount; a distal end side link hub to which the welding torch is mounted; and three or more link mechanisms configured to couple the distal end side link hub to the proximal end side link hub. Each link mechanism includes proximal side and distal side end link members and an intermediate link member. Two or more link mechanisms are each provided with a posture changing actuator which arbitrarily changes the posture of the distal end side link hub relative to the proximal end side link hub.

Embodiments of the present invention are wire feeders and wire feeder cable connections which include a power block portion, a cable connection portion and a liner guide assembly portion. The liner guide assembly portion and power block portion are structured and assembly so that a liner guide can be removed from a welding cable from inside the wire feeder, without removing the cable connector from the wire feeder.

Welding electrode storage system and method

A system includes a welding power supply. The welding power supply includes circuitry configured to produce power for a welding operation. The welding power supply also includes a compartment interior to the welding power supply and configured to hold one or more welding electrodes. In addition, the welding power supply may include a covering configured to be removably disposed in an opening of the compartment to allow access to the welding electrodes in the compartment.

Welding electrode with contoured face

A welding electrode for resistance spot welding includes a weld face comprising rings of ridges that project outwardly from a base surface of the weld face. The rings of ridges are positioned on the weld face to contact and impress into a sheet metal workpiece surface during resistance spot welding. If the welding electrode is used during resistance spot welding of light metal alloy workpieces, such as those of aluminum alloy or magnesium alloy, the rings of ridges on the weld face can contribute to improved welding performance.

Electrical contact for MIG welding torch
09669487 · 2017-06-06 · ·

A contactor providing for electrical contact in a welding torch includes a body member having first and second opposite sides, and adjacent pivot and head portions. The pivot portion has an outwardly curved contact surface on the second side providing a pivot point. The head portion also has a contact surface on the second side. The pivot portion has a shorter length between the first and second sides than the head portion. The contactor may be pivotally mounted in a torch connector body. At least one resilient member urges the contact surface of the pivot portion into engagement with an inner flange surface of the connector body, and biases the head portion into an opening in the torch connector body. The contact surface of the head portion is engageable with a torch neck inserted into the torch connector body, and provides an electrical connection between the torch body and neck.
