Device for shielding from weld spatter with an integrated cleaning system

A device (100) for covering the welding area for hot rolling lines consists of an outer container (1), a protective shield (2), a blade-holder (3) with scraping blades, and an actuator (9). Protection occurs by linearly sliding the protective shield (2) outside the outer container (1) up to minimizing the gaps with the billets. The cleaning occurs at the same time as the return to the rest position: the scraping blades, which are integral with the container (1) and are installed in contact with the inner surface of the protective shield (2), slide thereon during the raising, thus colliding with the deposits of solidified material and removing them. Completing the device (100) additionally is a small alternating linear motion of the protective shield (2) during operation to always keep the attachment area of the scraping blades clean, thus avoiding the need for excessive detachment forces at the beginning of the raising.

WELDING GUN TRIGGER GUARD
20210069818 · 2021-03-11 ·

A guard for a welding gun having a trigger and a body includes a plate having two elongated sides, two ends, a front, and a back, and a first pair of flanges extending from the elongated sides of the plate and forming a first open channel with the back of the plate. A biasing member is secured to the back of the plate. The plate is pivotally secured to the welding gun body by fasteners engaging the first pair of flanges and the welding gun body, and at least a portion of the back of the plate overlies the welding gun trigger. A user may only activate the gun by applying enough pressure to the plate to engage the trigger. When the user is not applying the required pressure, the spring-biasing mechanism prevents the trigger from being pressed.

Rotating Electrical Connection with Locking Axial and Radial Positions for Use in Welding and Cutting Devices with a non-conductive coupling

Rotating electrical connection with locking axial and radial positions for use in welding and cutting devices including a non-conductive coupling that isolates the current path between a locking section and a conductive section of the receiving member body. The receiving member body including a release member designed to exert a compressive force on an interference member.

Methods For Modifying Surface Properties Using Exothermic Reactive Powder Mixtures

Various methods are provided to produce welded structures resistant to hydrogen induced cracking (HIC), improve wear resistance, reduce manufacturing steps including pre/post weld treatments, and improving corrosion resistance. Exemplary methods include using exothermic reactive powder mixtures on as-welded hot surface(s) during weld cooling which generate rapid exothermic reaction melting and hydrogen removal which results in reduction of hydrogen, creation of a wear/corrosion prevention or reduction layer, and a reduction of residual stresses effect in the weld initially formed in initial welding. Alternative embodiments can also employ post cooling re-heating and application of one or more alternative methods using exothermic reactive powders.

Welding gun stabilizer

The present disclosure provides a stabilizer for a welding gun, wherein said stabilizer may comprise a plurality of sections hinged together to allow rotation with respect to each other and in connection with a user's hand. The stabilizer may comprise a holder designed to accept the end of a welding gun and a positioning device at one end to minimize movement of the welding gun. The stabilizer attaches to the user's hand and allows precise and repeatable welding movements. The stabilizer also allows a user to push fingers slightly, instead of constantly gripping the trigger.

Welding lead connector and welding lead connector including locking mechanism

A male welding lead connector apparatus including a slidable member to block the male welding lead connector from rotating relative to a female welding lead connector when the two connectors are engaged with one another. A method of locking a male welding lead connector to a female welding lead connector using a special male welding lead connector including a slidable member to block the male welding lead connector from rotating relative to a female welding lead connector when the two connectors are engaged with one another.

TOOL HOLDERS FOR ROBOTIC SYSTEMS HAVING COLLISION DETECTION

An example robotic tool holder includes an actuator that is disposed within a housing and configured to hold a tool. The housing and the actuator are in contact via dowels to limit movement of the actuator toward a distal end of the housing. Ones of the dowels that are in contact are in line contact and the ones of the dowels that are in contact are in a triangular geometry. The pressure plate is in line contact with the actuator within the housing around a circumference of the pressure plate. The springs are in contact with the pressure plate to bias the actuator toward a proximal end of the housing via the pressure plate. The springs are in contact with the mounting plate opposite the pressure plate. The sensor switch detects a shock force on the actuator and outputs a signal in response to the shock force.
