A welding torch system includes a receiving assembly to receive a contact tip and a welding nozzle. The welding torch system also includes a locking element that retains the contact tip in a partially secure position. Further, the welding torch system includes the welding nozzle configured to couple to the receiving assembly to retain the contact tip in a fully secure position.

In a method and a carrier gas nozzle for allowing at least one fluid to flow over a welding area of a workpiece along a welding path during a welding process, the at least one fluid is flowed onto the welding area via at least one inlet and channels having openings. The openings of the channels are divided into at least two sectors, and at least one flow parameter, if need be also a property of the at least one fluid of each sector, is individually controlled, wherein at least one flow parameter of at least one fluid of at least one sector is controlled depending on the geometry of the welding path and/or depending on the geometry of the workpiece.
Apparatus for regulation of the pressure of a gas
A pressure regulator comprising a housing having an inlet in communication with a gas source, an outlet operable to supply a gas at a given pressure and flow rate, a conduit extending between the inlet and the outlet, a restriction device located in the conduit and positionable to control the flow of gas therethrough, a biasing arrangement to apply a predetermined bias to the restriction device and a selection device operable to select one of a predetermined plurality of discrete, offset configurations of the biasing arrangement and restriction device to provide a discrete selection of gas pressures at said outlet. The outlet comprises a fixed-size orifice selected from a specific group of fixed-sized orifices such that the combination of orifice and selectable position of said selection device provide a group of discrete flow rate/pressure combinations to applications downstream of said outlet.
FUME EXTRACTOR FOR WELDING APPLICATIONS
A welding system having a welding power supply coupled to a fume extractor is provided. The fume extractor may be coupled to control circuitry configured to operate the welding power supply. The control circuitry may be configured to begin, terminate or modify the operation of the fume extractor prior to the establishment of a welding arc, after the termination of the welding arc, or both. The control circuitry may be further configured to modify the operation of the fume extractor based upon a type of welding process used.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR A VENTILATION NOZZLE FOR WELDING APPLICATIONS
Provided is a disclosure for a ventilation conduit for a welding torch, where the ventilation conduit comprises a conduit body comprising at least a first part and a second part, and a conduit nozzle. The first part and the second part are configured to be removably coupled to each other around an outside of a welding torch. The conduit nozzle, with a first end that is beveled and a second end, is configured to be removably coupled by the second end to the conduit body.
Low back pressure penetrating arc welding apparatus and method
A low-back-pressure penetrating arc welding apparatus and a welding method using the same are disclosed. Through vacuuming a central vacuum chamber of a low-back-pressure protection device by a suction device, a plume of a penetrating arc located in the central vacuum chamber, as well as a back side of a keyhole molten pool, are maintained in a negative-pressure vacuum state relative to an argon gas ambience. A pressure gradient in the keyhole molten pool is thus generated that points from a front side of the keyhole molten pool to the back side of the keyhole molten pool. The pressure gradient thus further enhances a stiffness of the front side of the keyhole molten pool as well as a stability of the penetrating arc, resulting in an enhancement in the piercing capability of the penetrating arc, without changing a force distribution and a temperature gradient of the keyhole molten pool.
Fire protection system for air cleaning system
An air cleaning system (10) is disclosed comprising a fire protection system. The fire protection system comprises at least one of (i) a spark arrestor (21), (ii) a particle feeder (31), (iii) a fire detection system; and (iv) a fire extinguishing system. A preferred spark arrestor comprises a particle pre-separator (22). A preferred particle pre-separator has a core-and-vane assembly that prevents air traveling through the particle pre-separator from traveling in a straight line.
Fume extractor for welding applications
A welding system having a welding power supply coupled to a fume extractor is provided. The fume extractor may be coupled to control circuitry configured to operate the welding power supply. Airborne component extractor manifold
An airborne component extraction system comprises a source of a positive pressure air stream and a source of a negative pressure air stream. Conduits allow the positive pressure air stream to be channeled to a work area, and the negative pressure air stream to be drawn from the work area to pull airborne components away from the work area. A manifold receives the conduits and aids in directing both air streams between the sources and the conduits. The manifold may support the conduits in the form of an arm that can be rotated while directing the air streams.
