SWING ARM ASSEMBLY WITH SHIFTER FOR INTERACTING WITH A SPOT WELDING TIP
A swing arm assembly is provided for a spot welding machine. The swing arm assembly can accommodate a tip dresser or a tip exchanger and can include a shifter that can translate the tip dresser from a first position to a second position along a lateral axis.
Device and method for grinding workpieces, in particular welding electrodes
A system for grinding workpieces includes a grinding wheel, a first support for rotatably supporting the grinding wheel about a first rotational axis, and a grinding wheel drive for rotating the grinding wheel. The first support can be rotated about a second rotational axis using a support rotating device, the first rotational axis being inclined relative to the second rotational axis such that the grinding wheel lies diagonally against the surface of the workpiece and grinds a substantially conical surface on the workpiece while rotating about the second rotational axis when the workpiece contacts the grinding wheel surface at a distance from the second rotational axis. A position adjusting device may move the first support along the second rotational axis. The angle of inclination between the first rotational axis and the second rotational axis may be adjusted using an inclination adjusting device.
Integrated electrode maintenance for robotic welding cell
A welding station includes a welding gun that includes first and second caps. The welding gun is movable between a working position and a maintenance position. The working position corresponds to a welding operation on at least one workpiece. A maintenance tool assembly is configured to cooperate with the first and second caps in the maintenance position. The maintenance tool assembly includes a cap extractor, a cap dispenser and a cap dresser. The cap extractor is configured to remove the first and second caps from the welding gun. The cap dispenser is configured to provide a new cap to the welding gun for installation. The cap dresser is configured to shape the cap face. The maintenance tool assembly includes a lift actuator. A translate actuator is respectively configured to move the maintenance tool assembly in the lift and translate directions with respect to the welding gun.
Tip dresser
A chip collection unit is provided under a body case. The unit includes a chip guiding member on one lateral side of a chip falling area that is downward of the lower communication hole, and a first air discharge unit on another lateral side of the chip falling area. The member includes at one end a chip collection port located corresponding to the chip falling area, and is connected at another end to a chip collector capable of collecting the chips. The first air discharge unit includes an air nozzle configured to discharge compressed air towards the chip collection port.
Air blow nozzle and tip dresser equipped with air blow nozzle
The air blow nozzle includes a nozzle body configured to be connected to an air compressor one end thereof and includes an air discharge portion another end thereof, the air discharge portion is capable of discharging compressed air supplied from the air compressor. The air discharge portion is configured to be movable to a position that does not correspond to an upper communication hole as the nozzle body is slid to one side. The nozzle body includes a nut configured to position the air discharge portion in a predetermined position near a rotary holder as the nozzle body is slid to another side.
Tip dressing installation system and method
A tip dressing system includes a tip dressing machine having a gear unit. A holder is installed in the gear unit, and a cutter is installed on the holder. The holder may include mechanical structure corresponding to the gear unit that prevents the holder from being installed incorrectly and further prevents a holder that does not match the machine from being installed in the gear unit. The cutter may include mechanical structure corresponding to the holder to prevents the cutter from being installed incorrectly and further prevents a cutter that does not match the holder from being attached to the holder. The machine, holder, and cutter may include indicators configured for being scanned by a scanning device, and a controller may determine whether the scanned components match.
