Vehicle drivetrain assembly and method for making the assembly
A vehicle drivetrain assembly, and method for making the assembly, including first and second torque transmitting members, one of which is made of aluminum and the other of which is made of steel, and being joined by an electromagnetic pulse weld progressively applied along a radial direction relative to a central axis of the assembly.
RAILWAY RAIL INDUCTION-WELDING DEVICE
A railway rail induction-welding device is provided which includes a device support and a railway rail alignment means for aligning opposing railway rails in three mutually perpendicular directions, the railway rail alignment means being supported by the device support. The railway rail alignment means includes first and second railway-rail clamping elements to horizontally and longitudinally align the opposing railway rails when gripped by the first and second railway-rail clamping elements, with at least one of the first and second railway-rail clamping elements being movably supported by the device support, and a vertical lifting means for moving each railway-rail clamping element vertically to align the opposing railway rails. A railway rail clamping and lifting module, a vehicle a railway rail induction-welding device, and a method of inductively welding opposing railway rails together are also provided.
POSITIONING STRUCTURE OF FRAME WELDING ASSEMBLY FOR METAL PRODUCT
A positioning structure of a frame welding assembly for a metal product, the metal product is a holding plate or a holding basket made of metal mesh and contains: multiple bodies, each of the multiple bodies is folded in a square shape and includes multiple raised faces and multiple slots which are stamped on a peripheral side of each body respectively. Two adjacent of the multiple bodies are connected together, and the two adjacent bodies have multiple recesses and multiple protrusions respectively formed on two connection sides thereof so that the multiple recesses retain with the multiple protrusions individually before welding the two adjacent bodies together.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A VALVE
A method for manufacturing a valve may include welding two components to each other via a combined induction/friction welding process. One of the two components may be a valve head and the other of the two components may be a valve stem.
Integrated Heat Treatment Apparatus and Method for Autogenous Welding
The present invention relates to an improved process and embodiments for girth welding of metal tubes and pipes and other shapes based on existing high speed, one-shot welding processes which have been modified to integrate a rapid heat treatment instantly after the weld is completed, while the weld is still hot and above specified transformation temperatures. The principle advantages are improved mechanical properties in the weld with a reduced cycle time to achieve them versus conventional separate post weld heat treatments such as tempering or quenching and tempering.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REPAIRING RAIL WHEELS
A method of repairing a rail wheel including removing a selected segment of a rim of the rail wheel to provide a remaining segment having a first engagement surface, and providing a replacement workpiece including a replacement body element having a second engagement surface formed to mate with the first engagement surface. The replacement workpiece is positioned to define a predetermined gap between the first and second engagement surfaces. One or more heating elements are positioned in the predetermined gap, for induction heating, in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, of first and second heated portions of the remaining segment and the replacement workpiece, and the first and second engagement surfaces, to a hot working temperature, for plastic deformation thereof. The heating elements are removed, and the first and second engagement surfaces are engaged for plastic deformation of at least part of the first and second heated portions and the engagement surfaces.
Alternative materials for mandrel in infiltrated metal-matrix composite drill bits
An infiltrated metal-matrix composite drill bit includes a bit body comprising a reinforced composite material including reinforcing particles infiltrated with a binder material. A plurality of cutting elements is coupled to an exterior of the bit body. A mandrel is positioned within the bit body and made of an M-based alloy selected from the group consisting of a titanium-based alloy, a nickel-based alloy, a copper-based alloy, a cobalt-based alloy, and a refractory metal-based alloy, wherein the element designated by M is the most prevalent element in the alloy composition. A shank is coupled to the mandrel.
Systems and methods for use in induction welding
An induction welding system is provided. The system includes at least one induction coil configured to generate an alternating magnetic field, and a smart susceptor film sized to be positioned between a first component and a second component to be welded to the first component. The smart susceptor film includes a thermoplastic resin, and a plurality of metal alloy wires disposed in the thermoplastic resin such that the plurality of metal alloy wires are oriented substantially parallel to the generated alternating magnetic field.
Concentric Welded Pipes with Condition Monitoring Capability and Method of Manufacture
A method for solid-state, one-shot, butt-welding of multiple coaxial metal pipe subassemblies that have a prescribed annular clearance to allow them to be welded separately yet simultaneously is described. The nested pipes or tubes making up of these subassemblies can thus be joined end to end to form pipelines or wells for oil, gas and geothermal and the like with specific desired advantages over conventional single-wall pipelines or wells casings. The advantages include an ability to monitor the condition of all or selected portions of the pressure envelope constituted by the pipeline or well casing and thereby identify damage with ample advance warning before failure and leakage or major spills occur.
Copper and steel composite pipe, manufacturing method, application and welded structure body
A novel copper and steel composite pipe, a manufacturing method, application and a welded structure body is described herein. The novel copper and steel composite pipe includes a copper pipe and a steel pipe. The steel pipe includes a first end, a second end and a middle part. The copper pipe includes a first end and a second end. The length of the copper pipe is less than that of the steel pipe. The copper pipe and the steel pipe are sleeved. The distance from an end surface of the first end of the copper pipe to an end surface of the first end of the steel pipe is less than 10 mm. The second end of the copper pipe is positioned at the middle part of the steel pipe, and the copper pipe and the steel pipe are welded and connected in a way of melting base materials.
