The invention relates to a ventilation system and method for promoting growth of a plant. The system comprises an air inlet provided at a first height from a defined floor level, an air outlet, fluidly connected to the inlet, an air moving device for moving air from the inlet to the outlet, and a plant growing surface, provided at a second height, being higher than the first height, for accommodating growing plants, wherein the air outlet is provided at a third height, being higher than the second height. The inventive concept is based on the inventors' realization that improved growing conditions can be provided by transporting CO.sub.2 from the bottom of a lower level in a greenhouse to a higher level.

The method comprises the step of adding an irradiation of green light, which has a peak wavelength at 505-526 nm, into the indoor growing environment of cannabis to improve the levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinoid substances in cannabis. While maintaining the light intensity and other growth conditions, the yields and/or levels of THC and CBD, cannabinoid substances in cannabis, can be increased by up to 21.35%.

Described herein is the evaluation of the antifungal properties of bacterial strain KGS-3 against Fusarium Head Blight (FHB)) white mold, blackleg and a number of potato fungal diseases and the plant growth effect attained. KGS-3 is a novel strain of Paenibacillus polymyxa that can suppress bacterial and fungal plant diseases. KGS-3 is predicted to produce antifungal metabolites polymyxin, fusaricidin, and paenilarvin and has been demonstrated to produce cylindrol B. KGS-3 is a plant growth promoting bacteria demonstrated to increase protein content of plants and/or plant products.
