SYSTEM FOR MANUFACTURING OF THREE DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS
A system for manufacturing of three dimensional objects by layered deposition is provided. The system includes a base substrate for formation of three dimensional objects placed on a supporting plate; a functional assembly comprising a gas-discharge electron beam gun, a feedstock guide, a cold annular cathode and two annular anode electrodes, a high voltage power supply of the gas-discharge electron beam gun, a system of precise positioning of the supporting plate with the base substrate), a vacuum tight operation chamber, a vacuum subsystem for creating of necessary vacuum inside said operating chamber, a control system and a magnetic lens. The lens is placed on the underside of the gas-discharge electron beam gun coaxially with it and with the feedstock guide, providing the possibility of transformation of a primary hollow electron beam to the shape of a hollow inverted cone after leaving the discharge chamber of the gas-discharge electron beam gun.
Method and arrangement for building metallic objects by solid freeform fabrication
Provided are a systems and methods for manufacturing objects by solid freeform fabrication, especially titanium and titanium alloy objects, wherein the deposition rate is increased by using two separate heat sources, one heat source for heating the deposition area on the base material and one heat source for heating and melting a metallic material, such as a metal wire or a powdered metallic material.
Additive manufacturing device and additive manufacturing method
An additive manufacturing device performs preliminary heating of a powder material laid and leveled in an irradiation region of an electron beam by irradiating the powder material with the electron beam and manufacturing an additively manufactured article thereafter by irradiating the powder material with the electron beam and melting the powder material. The additive manufacturing device includes a beam emitting unit emitting the electron beam and irradiating the powder material with the electron beam. When the preliminary heating is performed, the beam emitting unit performs irradiation with the electron beam along an irradiation path in a first direction and performs irradiation with the electron beam thereafter along an irradiation path in a second direction set at a jump distance from the irradiation path in the first direction as a direction opposite to the first direction.
PULSED DIRECTED ENERGY DEPOSITION BASED FABRICATION OF HYBRID TITANIUM/ALUMINUM MATERIAL FOR ENHANCED CORROSION RESISTANCE AND STRENGTH
A method of providing a protective titanium layer to an outer surface of an aluminum component includes providing an aluminum component and forming a first layer of titanium-based bulk metallic glass on the component, wherein formation of the bulk metallic glass layer comprises depositing a titanium alloy powder using pulsed directed energy deposition.
Additive Manufacturing System And Method
An additive manufacturing system including a two-dimensional energy patterning system for imaging a powder bed is disclosed. Improved structure formation, part creation and manipulation, use of multiple additive manufacturing systems, and high throughput manufacturing methods suitable for automated or semi-automated factories are also disclosed.
3D-Metal-Printing Method and Arrangement Therefor
A 3D-metal-printing method applies material layer-by-layer and selectively locally heats predetermined points above a sintering or melting temperature of the powder and sinters or fuses the melted points with the underlying layer and optionally tempers the points. The starting material layer and optionally at least one underlying layer is preheated to a temperature with a predetermined difference to the melting temperature, and near IR radiation is sequentially irradiated in sections into partial sections of the total area of the respective starting material layer, wherein the selective local heating above the sintering or melting temperature is carried out in each case for predetermined points within a preheated partial section.
Method for designing laminate molded article, production method, production device, and program
A method for designing an additively-manufactured object includes: a slicing step of slicing a shape of the additively-manufactured object into weld bead layers each having a height corresponding to one bead layer using data of the shape of the additively-manufactured object, thereby generating a plurality of virtual bead layers; a reference direction setting step of setting, as a reference direction, a direction in which the sliced layer of the additively-manufactured object is continuously provided and extended in an intermediate layer disposed at a deposition-direction center of the plurality of virtual bead layers; and a bead adjusting step of adjusting a bead size of the weld bead to be formed in the plurality of virtual bead layers depending on a bead shape in a section perpendicular to the reference direction.
Tunable system and method for stress resolution in additive manufacturing
Prior to manufacturing a product by additive manufacturing, a stress relief profile including frequency and amplitude parameters of an ultrasonic input is determined based on physical properties of the product, including resonant frequencies of the product and a material from which the product is manufactured. Successive layers of a material are added and energy is applied to incorporate the material of each layer into the product. A processor accesses stress relief profile parameters for each layer, determines whether a layer requires stress relief and determines a frequency and a power level for the stress relief at the layer. An ultrasonic input is applied with the determined parameters to relieve stress as the product is built up.
Part Manipulation Using Printed Manipulation Points
A manipulator device such as a robot arm that is capable of increasing manufacturing throughput for additively manufactured parts, and allows for the manipulation of parts that would be difficult or impossible for a human to move is described. The manipulator can grasp various permanent or temporary additively manufactured manipulation points on a part to enable repositioning or maneuvering of the part.
Enclosed additive manufacturing system
A method of additive manufacture is disclosed. The method may include restricting, by an enclosure, an exchange of gaseous matter between an interior of the enclosure and an exterior of the enclosure. The method may further include running multiple machines within the enclosure. Each of the machines may execute its own process of additive manufacture. While the machines are running, a gas management system may maintain gaseous oxygen within the enclosure at or below a limiting oxygen concentration for the interior.
