The drive part can move the first holding part and the second holding part between a first direction separated position and a close position along a first direction. The drive part can move the first holding part and the second holding part between a second direction separated position and a sandwiching position along a second direction.
Friction welding
A friction welding process includes: providing a first workpiece having a first weld surface, and a second workpiece having a second weld surface; aligning the workpieces with the weld surfaces facing each other, moving one workpiece relative to the other workpiece, and engaging the first and second weld surfaces such that the movement raises the temperature at the weld surfaces to create a weld interface; and ceasing the movement and allowing the weld interface to cool to weld the workpieces together at the interface. The first workpiece has a plurality of flash removal channels formed in and/or adjacent to the first weld surface. The channels provide pathways for ejection of material from the weld interface during welding.
Method for manufacturing shaft
In a method for manufacturing a shaft, and surfaces of a pair of metal sheets are polished, and the metal sheets are each bent into a cylindrical or arcuate shape. The polished end surfaces of the metal sheets are butted together with the end surfaces facing each other. The butted end portions are diffusion-joined, thereby forming a cylindrical member. The cylindrical member is cooled, and ends of the cylindrical member are joined to linking members to form the shaft.
COLD PRESSURE WELDING APPARATUS, COIL MANUFACTURING APPARATUS, COIL, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
The cold pressure welding apparatus includes a first holding part capable of sandwiching a first flat conductor, a second holding part disposed opposite to the first holding part and capable of sandwiching a second flat conductor, and a drive part for moving the first holding part and the second holding part. The drive part can move the first holding part and the second holding part between a first direction separated position and a close position along a first direction. The drive part can move the first holding part and the second holding part between a second direction separated position and a sandwiching position along a second direction.
DUAL ALLOY TURBINE ROTORS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Dual alloy turbine rotors and methods for manufacturing the same are provided. The dual alloy turbine rotor comprises an assembled blade ring and a hub bonded to the assembled blade ring. The assembled blade ring comprises a first alloy selected from the group consisting of a single crystal alloy, a directionally solidified alloy, or an equi-axed alloy. The hub comprises a second alloy. The method comprises positioning a hub within a blade ring to define an interface between the hub and the blade ring. The interface is a non-contacting interface or a contacting interface. The interface is enclosed by a pair of diaphragms. The interface is vacuum sealed. The blade ring is bonded to the hub after the vacuum sealing step.
Frame rail for a vehicle
A frame rail for a vehicle has a pair of elongated structural members, each one of the pair of elongated structural members having flanges protruding from lateral edges thereof. The flanges of one of the pair of elongated structural members extend in a direction toward the flanges of the other one of the pair of elongated structural members. The frame rail also has first and second metallic web panels interconnecting the pair of elongated structural members. Overall, the frame rail has a box beam structure, wherein at least a major portion of each one of the first and second metallic web panels has a material thickness that is less than a material thickness of at least a major portion of each one of the pair of elongated structural members.
ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS FOR MANDREL IN INFILTRATED METAL-MATRIX COMPOSITE DRILL BITS
An infiltrated metal-matrix composite drill bit includes a bit body comprising a reinforced composite material including reinforcing particles infiltrated with a binder material. A plurality of cutting elements is coupled to an exterior of the bit body. A mandrel is positioned within the bit body and made of an M-based alloy selected from the group consisting of a titanium-based alloy, a nickel-based alloy, a copper-based alloy, a cobalt-based alloy, and a refractory metal-based alloy, wherein the element designated by M is the most prevalent element in the alloy composition. A shank is coupled to the mandrel.
Shear bonding device and shear bonding method of metal plates
A shear bonding device and a shear bonding method of metal plates are disclosed. The shear bonding device may include: an upper shear bonding mold having more than one upper perpendicular tooth and more than one upper slanted tooth formed alternately on a front end surface thereof; a lower shear bonding mold overlapped with the upper shear bonding mold in a vertical direction by a predetermined width below the upper shear bonding mold, and having more than one lower perpendicular tooth corresponding to the more than one upper slanted tooth and the more than one upper perpendicular tooth corresponding to the more than one lower slanted tooth formed alternately on a front end surface confronting the upper shear bonding mold; an upper heating clamper including a front end surface contacting with the upper perpendicular tooth of the upper shear bonding mold and adapted to generate heat by receiving power from a power supply; a lower heating clamper including a front end surface contacting with the lower perpendicular tooth of the lower shear bonding mold and adapted to generate heat by receiving power from the power supply; upper and lower pressing cylinders moving the upper and lower shear bonding molds upwardly or downwardly so as to apply load; and upper and lower clamping cylinders moving the upper and lower heating clampers upwardly or downwardly so as to apply clamping force and load, wherein the metal plates are disposed between the upper shear bonding mold and heating clamper, and the lower shear bonding mold and heating clamper.
