DEVICE FOR SETTING A SPECIFIC OPERATING POSITION OF AN APPARATUS COMPONENT AND METHOD THEREFOR
A device, use of the device and method for setting a specific operating position of an apparatus component, such as a wire feed of a welding installation. The apparatus component can be moved, in particular linearly displaced, to set the specific operating position and, after being moved into the specific operating position, can be fixed in place in said position for operation. The device includes a positioning element that has a modifiable surface on which the specific operating position can he preset for operation; and a setting aid that comprises at least one region interacting with the modifiable surface of the positioning element, and which is embodied to lie against the apparatus component.
MANUAL TUBE WELDING DEVICE
A device for welding may include a track configured to surround a workpiece. The device for welding may also include a cart configured to contact the track such that the track guides the cart around the workpiece. The cart may include a frame and a welding torch receptacle. The welding torch receptacle can be attached to the frame. The welding torch receptacle may be configured to maintain a tip of the welding torch at a set distance away from the workpiece while the cart moves around the workpiece.

An apparatus for repairing a metal sheet and method of operating the same are provided. The apparatus includes: a base unit including: a frame and an attachment feature on the frame, a cutting unit removably attachable to the base unit to cut out a damaged portion of the metal sheet, and a welding unit removably attachable to the base unit. The cutting unit includes: a cutting arm including a cutting blade, and a motor for operating the cutting arm. The welding unit includes: a fixed platform, a weld movement motor for moving a moveable platform on the fixed platform, and a welding assembly, attached to the moveable platform, to automatically weld a replacement piece to the metal sheet. In operation, the frame is continuously attached to the metal sheet during cutting of the damaged portion and welding of the replacement piece, providing a stable and repeatable frame of reference.
ROTATING POWER CONNECTOR FOR WELDING TORCH CABLES
A rotating power connection for connecting an electrical supply power cable to an electric welding torch body is provided. In the rotating power connection, the mechanical load is carried by steel bearings, and the electric load is carried by multi-contact, spring loaded fins made out of highly conductive materials or coatings. In some examples, a rotating power connector is affixed to a torch before the power connection to a wire feeder. The rotating power connector advantageously allows for rotation of the welding torch relative to the unicable while providing continual electrical connection at the high current levels employed in welding applications.
LASER MACHINING METHOD
A laser welding apparatus (1) includes a laser welding head (5) configured to irradiate a workpiece (10) with laser light, a welding filler feeding mechanism (6) configured to supply a welding material to a position on which laser welding is performed, and a hollow structural moving mechanism (100) configured to move a welding unit (50) including the laser welding head and the welding filler feeding mechanism. The hollow structural moving mechanism has an insertion portion (3a) through which wire materials (41 and 62) of the laser welding head and the welding filler feeding mechanism are inserted.
ULTRASONIC WELDING SYSTEM WITH FORMFITTING CONNECTION
The present invention concerns an ultrasonic welding installation comprising an ultrasonic vibration unit having a sonotrode and a converter, wherein the sonotrode and the converter are arranged in mutually adjacent relationship along a longitudinal axis and the ultrasonic vibration unit can be caused to resonate with an ultrasonic vibration in the direction of the longitudinal axis with a wavelength λ, wherein there can be provided an amplitude transformer arranged between the sonotrode and the converter. To provide an ultrasonic welding installation which allows simple replacement of the sonotrode and which can be easily and quickly adjusted with a high level of precision, it is proposed according to the invention that the sonotrode is connected to the converter and/or the amplitude transformer is connected to the converter and/or the amplitude transformer is connected to the sonotrode by way of a positively locking connection which provides a positively locking relationship in all directions of the plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DISCRETELY POSITIONING A WELDING TORCH
Provided is an apparatus for coating a girth weld and a cutback region surrounding said girth weld, said apparatus having lateral travel at least equal to the length of the cutback region and circumferential rotational travel around the pipe. A welding torch (18) for a welding system (10) includes a substantially spherical main body (20) that has an integrated coolant chamber (60) which is in fluid communication with at least one coolant port (62). The substantially spherical main body (20) is a joint head (22) of a ball joint (24) of the welding system (10). A welding system (10) includes a torch bracket (16) and the welding torch (18). The torch bracket (16) has a socket (26, 28) of a ball joint (24), and the socket (26, 28) receives the substantially spherical main body (20) of the welding torch (18) in a spherically orientable manner thereby forming the ball joint (24).
