HOT-ROLLED STEEL SHEET HAVING EXCELLENT EXPANDABILITY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The present invention relates to steel used for a sash component and the like of a vehicle and, more specifically, to a hot-rolled steel sheet for a high-strength electric resistance welded steel pipe having excellent expandability and a method for manufacturing same, the hot-rolled steel sheet having a smaller decrease in the strength of a welding heat-affected zone (HAZ) formed during electric resistance welding, in comparison with a base material.
Method for Producing Welded Connections Between Inner Tubes and Tube Support Plates of a Tube Bundle for a Product-To-Product Shell-And-Tube Heat Exchanger by Means of an Auxiliary Device, and Auxiliary Device for a Production Method of This Type
Producing welded connections between inner tubes and tube support plates of a tube bundle for a product-to-product shell-and-tube heat exchanger by means of an auxiliary device is described. A production method includes pressing the end face of a tube support plate against the end face of the inner tubes in the direction of the inner tube longitudinal axes during welding operations with a first form fit, which is effective both radially and axially, immovably fixing the number of inner tubes corresponding to the tube layout pattern to each other by a second, detachable form fit of the auxiliary device, making a circumferential round weld orbitally, starting from the plate inner bore and the tube inner bore, in a single pass and continuously from radially inside to radially outside, and detaching and removing the auxiliary device from the welded tube bundle.
Welding support block
A welding support block supports, from the rear surface of a joint to be welded, a weld pool created during a welding process. The welding support block comprises a block of metal and an outer layer of ceramic material providing a supporting surface. The ceramic material layer has a thickness between 0.25 mm and 1.5 mm. The metal material immediately beneath the ceramic material layer is made of steel. An internal line-up clamp for holding pipes in end-to-end alignment ready for welding may include multiple such welding support blocks. The use of such welding support blocks is particularly useful when laying a sour service carrying pipeline (high H.sub.2S content).

Method to fill heat pipe arrays
A fill tool system that fills, seals, and inspects a heat pipe array, which includes one or more heat pipes with heat pipe working fluid.
ORBITAL WELDING DEVICE WITH IMPROVED SECURITY AND REDUCED FAILURE PROBABILITY
An orbital welding device (1) having a welding head (2), the welding head having a tubular mount (3) and a welding electrode holder (4) rotatably supported with respect to the tubular mount (3), the orbital welding device (1) having an electric motor (6) activated by a motor controller (5) of the orbital welding device (1), which is configured to drive the welding electrode holder (4) and thus to rotate the same with respect to the tubular mount (3), wherein the orbital welding device (1) has an electric torque measuring device (7), which is configured to measure a torque applied by the motor (6) to the welding electrode holder (4), wherein the torque measuring device (7) is connected to the motor controller (5), and wherein the motor controller (5) is configured to stop the motor (6) automatically if the torque exceeds a predetermined first torque.
WELDING ROBOT THAT FORMS UNIFORM WEAVING BEADS BY PERFORMING WELDING IN PRECISE WEAVING OPERATION ALONG THE WELDING LINE FORMED ON THE STEEL PIPE
The present invention provides a welding robot that performs the elaborate weaving movements of skilled technicians and welds along the welding lines formed on the joints of the adjoined steel pipes.
Laser tool with a focus adjustment unit
In order to create a laser tool, in particular for the structuring of cylinder running surfaces, that offers the possibility of adjusting the focal position of the laser beam with high process reliability and with high repeatability, it is provided that the laser tool has a laser source for producing laser beams, a collimator for producing a parallel course of the laser beams from the laser source, which are passed through a lens that is located within a rotatable spindle, wherein an optical device for deflecting the laser beams onto a material surface is attached to an end of the spindle facing away from the laser source, wherein the collimator is movable parallel to the laser beam by means of a drive.
Methods and apparatus for welding work pieces having dissimilar compositions
The example methods and apparatus reduce and/or eliminate adverse effects of welding work pieces having dissimilar compositions. An example method includes depositing a first weld layer on a first end of a first work piece. The first work piece has a first content of a metallic element and the first weld layer has a second content of the metallic element higher than the first content. The example method includes depositing a second weld layer between the first weld layer and a second end of a second work piece to couple the first work piece to the second work piece. The second weld layer has a third content of the metallic element higher than the second content, and the second work piece has a fourth content of the metallic element higher than the first content.
Assembly And Method For Cleaving A Glass Body With A Laser
A cleaving assembly and a method for cleaving a glass body having a face at a desired angle greater than 0 degrees are disclosed. The assembly comprises a laser device for emitting a laser beam, a rotating device, and a positioning fixture. The rotating device has a head that rotates about a central axis that is orthogonal to the laser beam. The positioning fixture is operatively mounted to the head and centered axially along the central axis and is also rotatably driven by the rotating device. The positioning fixture has a tapered surface that is transverse to the central axis and that supports the glass body at a predetermined angle relative to the central axis. Rotation of the positioning fixture about the central axis when the glass body is exposed to the laser beam, cleaves the face of the glass body at the desired angle due to the glass body being supported transverse to the central axis.
