Each one of a first plurality of turnbuckle assemblies is coupled with each one of the first and second clamp jaws of the first clamp member, and each one of a second plurality of turnbuckle assemblies is coupled with each one of the first and second clamp jaws of the second clamp member. An assembly made from a kit of components is also disclosed. The kit includes an apparatus for aligning sections of pipe, and a plurality of shoe inserts. The assembly includes the apparatus and at least two of the shoe inserts coupled with the apparatus.

A welding system includes at least one high intensity energy source to create a weld puddle during a root pass on a narrow joint of a workpiece with a clad layer. The system also includes a controller to control a weld ramp out process such that, as the molten puddle advances to a start of an existing root pass weld, the controller at least one of decreases an energy output of the at least one high intensity energy source and reduces an interaction time between the at least one high intensity energy source and the weld puddle. After completion of the root pass, a thickness of a root pass weld in a region that is at or near the start point of the existing root pass weld is in a range of 100 percent to 130 percent of a nominal root pass thickness of a remainder of the root pass weld.

Wherein the bladder fill conduit is configured to introduce purge gas into the bladder. Wherein the bladder is configured to expand and form a seal between the cannister and the piping assembly to be welded. And, wherein the bladder return conduit is configured to evacuate excess purge gas from the bladder.

Gas Lift Valve Remanufacturing Process and Apparatus Produced Thereby

Used gas lift valves having a used bellows assembly are remanufactured. Separable components are disassembled, and the used bellows assembly is removed from a dome housing by de-brazing the used bellows at a brazed joint from a mating surface of the dome housing. A replacement bellows is then affixed (e.g., arc welded) to the dome housing's mating surface, and a bellows adapter is affixed (e.g., arc welded) to the replacement bellows. The separable components of the used valve are then reassembled to produce a remanufactured gas lift valve. The remanufactured valve has a replacement bellows composed of a nickel-chromium alloy as opposed to a nickel-copper alloy, has the replacement bellows arc-welded to the dome housing as opposed to being brazed thereto, and has the adapter arc-welded to the bellows as opposed to being brazed thereto.
