Low melting temperature flux materials for brazing applications and methods of brazing using the same are provided. A low melting temperature flux material for brazing applications includes as a majority constituent, a Cs-containing flux material, as a first minority constituent, a eutectic blend composition, and, optionally, as a second minority constituent, a mediating compound. The second minority constituent is present in the low melting temperature flux material in a lesser amount with respect to the first minority constituent.
DETECTION APPARATUS
A detection apparatus according to one aspect of this disclosure includes: two or more housings connectable to each other; a first photodetector connectable to a corresponding one of the two or more housings; and a second photodetector connectable to a corresponding one of the two or more housings. Each of the housings includes a first connecting portion to which the first photodetector is connectable, a second connecting portion to which the second photodetector is connectable, and a third opening facing the first connecting portion. At least one of the housings includes a dichroic mirror placed between a first opening and the third opening. The dichroic mirror allows light having a first wavelength in incident light from the third opening to pass through the dichroic mirror toward the first opening, while the dichroic mirror reflects light having a second wavelength in the incident light toward the second opening.
Mechanical vibration bonding apparatus and mechanical vibration bonding method
A mechanical vibration machining method or the like is suitable for allowing a probe to provide vibration to a horn with high efficiency. A horn portion is supported by a first support portion and a second support portion configured as a double-support structure. A first probe unit and a second probe unit are coupled to both ends of the horn portion. The first probe unit and the second probe unit vibrate the horn portion by means of vibration generated by a first generation unit and a second generation unit. The horn portion provides nodal points at which elongation and contraction alternately occur. For example, in a case in which the contact portion is arranged at the center of the horn portion, the second generation unit is oscillated with a phase that is the opposite of that of the first generation unit.
PRESSURE TANK, GAS INSULATED SWITCHGEAR USING SAME, AND PRESSURE TANK MANUFACTURING METHOD
To obtain a pressure tank that achieves a high manufacturing efficiency and does not hamper storage of an open/close portion such as a vacuum valve in a pressure tank. A pressure tank of the present invention includes: a tank body having at least one penetrating slit-shaped mortise and having a space formed inside the tank body; a reinforcing member having a tenon portion formed at an end thereof so as to be directed in one direction, and having an electric field relaxation portion on a side opposite to the tenon portion, the reinforcing member being attached to an inner wall surface of the tank body with the tenon portion inserted into the mortise; and a welding portion sealing and fixing the mortise and the tenon portion with no gap therebetween, the welding portion being formed by melting an end of the tenon portion from outside of the tank body.
LASER WELDING OF OVERLAPPING METAL WORKPIECES ASSISTED BY VARYING LASER BEAM PARAMETERS
A method of laser welding a workpiece stack-up that includes at least two overlapping metal workpieces is disclosed. The method includes advancing a beam spot of a laser beam relative to a top surface of the workpiece stack-up and along a beam travel pattern to form a laser weld joint, which is comprised of resolodified composite metal workpiece material, that fusion welds the metal workpieces together. And, while the beam spot is being advanced along the beam travel pattern, between a first point and a second point, which may or may not encompass the entire beam travel pattern, at least one of the following laser beam parameters is repeatedly varied: (1) the power level of the laser beam; (2) the travel speed of the laser beam; or (3) the focal position of the laser beam relative to the top surface of the workpiece stack-up.
Method for manufacturing liquid-cooled jacket
A liquid cooling jacket is produced by forming a first butted portion where a step side face of a peripheral wall portion and an outer peripheral side face of a sealing body butt each other and a third butted portion where a step side face of a support pillar portion and a hole wall of the hole portion of the sealing body portion butt each other with a gap, and friction-stirring by inserting a tip side pin and a base side pin of a primary joining rotary tool that is rotating into the sealing body and moving the primary joining rotary tool along the third butted portion with an outer circumferential face of the tip side pin being kept off the step side face while having a second aluminum alloy of the sealing body flow into the gap.
Fixture for automatic assembly, overturning and welding of sidewall aluminum profiles of rail vehicle
Provided is a fixture for automatic assembly, overturning and welding of sidewall aluminum profile of a rail vehicle, comprising a lifting mechanism, a supporting overturning device mounted on the lifting mechanism, an automatic assembling sidewall profile device mounted on the supporting overturning device, and a self-positioning locking device. The automatic assembling sidewall profile device comprises a sidewall-shaped support steel beam, and a rodless cylinder track platform and a fixing seat. The self-positioning locking devices are mounted on the rodless cylinder track platform and the fixing seat, and have a self-positioning base and a locking device. The self-positioning base comprises an outer housing is provided with the locking device and two symmetrically set self-positioning supports, and faces of the two self-positioning supports matching with the rail vehicle aluminum profile are provided with rollers having a V-shaped gap formed therebetween.
Joining method
The invention has a feature of comprising a butting process of forming a stepped butted portion and a joining process of performing friction-stir-welding on the stepped butted portion, wherein the rotary tool includes a base side pin having a taper angle larger than a taper angle of a tip side pin, and a pin step portion in a staircase shape is formed on an outer circumferential face of the base side pin, and wherein in the joining process, a rotation direction and a translation method of the rotary tool are set such that the second metal member is on an advancing side, a target angle by which a rotation axis of the rotary tool is inclined toward the second metal member is set such that a burr formed on a front face of the second metal member after the joining process has a thickness between 0 and 130 μm.
Method and apparatus for welding foils
A method and associated device for joining a battery cell tab to a plurality of foils associated with a plurality of electrodes of a battery cell are described. This includes arranging the plurality of foils in a stack, and joining, via a first joining device, the plurality of foils, wherein the first joining device defines a joining region. A portion of the battery cell tab is arranged on the plurality of foils, and joined, via a second joining device, to the plurality of foils. The second joining device generates a weld joint that is encompassed within the joining region defined by the first joining device. In doing so, weld quality and strength of internal welds in a battery cell may be improved by reducing the occurrence of porosities and cracks in the foil/tab weld joints.
