3D Preview of Laser-Finished Garments
A tool allows a user to create new designs for apparel and preview these designs in three dimensions before manufacture. Software and lasers are used in finishing apparel to produce a desired wear pattern or other design. Based on a laser input file with a pattern, a laser will burn the pattern onto apparel. With the tool, the user will be able to create, make changes, and view images of a design, in real time, before burning by a laser. The tool can be accessed or executes via a Web browser.
Using Fabric Response Characteristic Function to Create Laser Finishing Patterns on Apparel
Software and lasers are used in finishing apparel to produce a desired wear pattern or other design. A technique includes determining a fabric's response to a laser, capturing an initial image of a wear pattern on a garment, and processing the initial image to obtain a working image in grayscale. The working image is further processed to obtain a difference image by comparing each pixel relative to a dark reference. The difference image is converted to a laser values image by using the previously determined fabric response to the laser.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR END-TO-END ARTICLE MANAGEMENT
Systems and methods are described for managing articles. The systems and methods described herein may comprise an example method for manufacturing an article. The systems and methods provides an end-to-end manufacturing value chain as a closed system and feedback loop.
Method for introducing a defined weakening line by means of a pulsed laser beam via material removal on a cover material
The invention relates to a method for introducing a defined weakening line by means of material removal on a cover material (20) which has a visible side (22) and a rear side (21) opposite the visible side (22), in which a pulsed laser beam (31) from a laser (30) is aimed at the rear side (21) of the cover material (20) and is guided along a path (50) and at least one observation unit (11) for monitoring the weakening process is provided underneath the visible side (22) of the cover material (20), wherein a second laser beam (61) from a second laser (60) is coupled into the beam path of the first laser beam (31), wherein the first pulsed laser beam (31) is used to produce the weakening line, and the radiation from the second laser beam (61) that emerges on the visible side (22) is detected by the at least one observation unit (11).

SEMIAUTOMATIC APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SURFACE TREATMENT OF ITEMS OF CLOTHING USING A LASER SOURCE
A semiautomatic apparatus for surface treatment of items of clothing using a laser source, in which the items have front, rear and side surfaces, the apparatus includes support means, rotating about substantially vertical axes, movement means for moving the support means and laser means for surface treatment of the items. The laser means include at least one first laser generator and a second laser generator for directing laser beams respectively to the front, the rear and/or the side surfaces of the items to be treated, and the support means include multiple arms configured to move from a loading/unloading station for an item to be treated or being treated to two work stations for the items to be treated. A passage is provided for an operator to access the loading/unloading station, the generators are located at opposite sides of the passage to avoid interference of the laser beams with the operator.

Postprocessing of seat belts for adding dye
Methods for marking a seat belt webbing with an infrared compound are described herein. The methods comprise ablating a surface of the seat belt webbing by directing one or more laser pulses toward the seat belt webbing; and coating the ablated surface of the seat belt webbing with the infrared compound, wherein the infrared compound increases absorptivity or reflectivity of the seat belt webbing to infrared radiation. Methods for optically monitoring operation of the seat belt webbing in a vehicle and distinguishing between proper positioning and improper positioning of the seat belt webbing are also disclosed.
