A method for laser engraving on clothing and to a corresponding machine. Using an image, a laser burns, for each pixel, a corresponding point on the clothing, with a laser energy level that is a function of the pixel value. This function has a first zone with a first average gradient and a second zone with a second average gradient. The first zone corresponds to laser energy values less than the second zone, the absolute value of the second average gradient being greater than the absolute value of the first average gradient. The laser engraving machine comprises a laser source, means for conducting the laser on specific points of the clothing, means for controlling the energy supplied by the laser, and control means configured to carry out the method.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING LASERS TO SEAL AN EDGE OF A COVERING OF AN ARCHITECTURAL-STRUCTURE COVERING
A system and method for laser sealing an edge portion of a covering of an architecture-structure covering is disclosed. In one embodiment, after cutting a covering of an architectural-structure covering to an appropriate size, lasering the cut edge portions or surfaces of the covering to seal the cut edge portions or surfaces of the covering to prevent fraying. The beam of the laser may be positioned to contact the cut edge portions or surfaces of the covering in a plane of the fabric. Subsequently, the beam of the laser scans or moves across the surface of the cut edge portion of the covering. In use, the beam of the laser is arranged and configured to apply heat to the surface of the fabric material at discrete points or spots to vaporize any loose fibers located along the cut edge portion of the covering.

A GDL cutting system of a fuel cell includes: a laser-cutting device that forms a gas diffusion layer by radiating a laser on the surface of a GDL fabric panel moving on a conveyer; an adsorbing-conveying device that adsorbs and conveys at least two gas diffusion layers cut by the laser-cutting device; a first vision sensor that senses an upper side of the gas diffusion layers cut by the laser-cutting device; and a second vision sensor that senses a lower side of the gas diffusion layers adsorbed and conveyed by the adsorbing-conveying device.

The controller is configured to operate the laser unit to generate the number of laser beams resulting in a desired level of heating of a composite patch that cures the composite patch on a composite structure.

Method and apparatus for producing RFID transponders (400) arranged on a carrying substrate, comprising:providing a first substrate (100), the first substrate having at least one antenna element (101) arranged thereon, and preferably several antenna elements arranged sequentially thereon along a longitudinal extension of the first substrate, each antenna element being formed by an electrically conductive pattern; providing a second substrate (200), the second substrate (200) having at least one RFID strap, each RFID strap comprising an IC (202) and at least one contact pad (201) coupled to the IC, and preferably several RFID straps being arranged sequentially along a longitudinal extension of the second substrate; and electrically connecting an antenna element (101) on the first substrate to the at least one contact pad on the second substrate by bringing said first and second substrates together, thereby bringing said antenna element in mechanical contact with said at least one contact pad, and heating the contact pad(s) to a temperature at least equal to a characteristic melting point of said at least contact pads, thereby electrically connecting the antenna element to said at least one contact pad.
