Method of resistively welding parts and parts made thereby
A method of securing a first component part and a second component part together, the method comprising providing an electrically conductive member between a first surface of the first component part and a facing first surface of the second component part and securing the first and second components together by passing a current through the electrically conductive member. The electrically conductive member is distributed across at least 50% of the surface area of the first surface of the first component part.
Method for curing solder paste on a thermally fragile substrate
A method for curing solder paste on a thermally fragile substrate is disclosed. An optically reflective layer and an optically absorptive layer are printed on a thermally fragile substrate. Multiple conductive traces are selectively deposited on the optically reflective layer and on the optically absorptive layer. Solder paste is then applied on selective locations that are corresponding to locations of the optically absorptive layer. After a component has been placed on the solder paste, the substrate is irradiated from one side with uniform pulsed light. The optically absorptive layer absorbs the pulsed light and becomes heated, and the heat is subsequently transferred to the solder paste and the component via thermal conduction in order to heat and melt the solder paste.
Devices, systems and methods for three-dimensional printing
The present disclosure provides a printer system based on high power, high brightness visible laser source for improved resolution and printing speeds. Visible laser devices based on high power visible laser diodes can be scaled using the stimulated Raman scattering process to create a high power, high brightness visible laser source.
Metallized Components And Surgical Instruments
A surgical instrument and related methods are described. The surgical instrument includes a first jaw including a first structural jaw element and a first sealplate fixed to the first structural jaw element and a second jaw including a second structural jaw element and a second sealplate fixed to the second structural jaw element. The second structural jaw element is moveably coupled to the first structural jaw element to facilitate pinching tissue between the first and second sealplates. The first and second sealplates are configured to facilitate sealing tissue pinched therebetween. The first jaw further includes a metallized tie layer between the first sealplate and the first structural jaw element, wherein the first sealplate is fixed to the first structural jaw element via a metal to metal joint between the first sealplate and the metallized tie layer.
CONTAINER AND CONTAINING BODY
A label is attached to a base material in a container. The container includes patterns formed in a plurality of stages on the base material by laser irradiation. The patterns may include an aggregation of dots formed by the laser irradiation. The container may further include a first information region and a second information region. Information including a numeral, a symbol, or an image is made visible by the patterns in the first information region. The second information region is formed on the label. Information including a numeral, a symbol, or an image is made visible in the second information region.
LASER PROCESSING METHOD AND PREFORM
A laser processing method includes: marking multiple concaves on a surface of a preform before blow molding.
Method for forming a coating on a stent
Various embodiments of methods and devices for coating stents are described herein.
Watertight welding methods and components
A method for watertight welding, and components formed using that welding method, wherein the welding method includes providing a first component half with a groove and a protruding ridge located therein, providing a second component half with a tenon shaped to match the profile of the groove, disposing the tenon inside the groove such that the tenon contacts the protruding ridge, applying an ultrasonic power source near the groove to melt the protruding ridge, and applying opposing vertical force to the first component half relative to the second component half, such that the protruding ridge wedges in a bonding seam between an outside surface of the tenon and an inside surface of the groove.
Guidewire having varying diameters and method of making
A method of making a medical guidewire including providing a wire having a length that includes a proximal length and a distal length. The method further includes applying cold work to the distal length and not applying cold work to the proximal length, thereby imparting to the distal length a diameter that is smaller than the proximal length diameter; and applying a reducing process to the wire whereby the proximal length is reduced to have an outer diameter that is the same as the outer diameter of the distal length. The proximal length has an inner diameter and the distal length has an inner diameter that is less than the inner diameter of the proximal length.
ULTRASONIC WELDING OF DISSIMILAR SHEET MATERIALS
A ultrasonic welding method of joining dissimilar-material workpieces, such as sheet materials, and the joined components formed thereby. The method includes applying ultrasonic energy to a thermoplastic piece to fill a hole of a dissimilar piece to form a weld point that is made up with polymer from the thermoplastic piece. In general, the geometry of the thermoplastic piece is not altered during the process. The dissimilar piece generally has a higher melting temperate and can be metal, thermoset polymers, or other thermoplastic material. The welded pieces can be arranged in a lap, laminate, or double lap configuration. In some embodiments, the hole of the dissimilar sheet material includes undercut features that improve the mechanical interlock between the dissimilar pieces. In some embodiments, the weld point has a mushroom cap to improve mechanical interlock.
