Device and method for inserting a tool into a tool receptacle
The present invention provides a device (10) for inserting a tool (18) into a tool receptacle (14), said device comprising a first holding means (12), which is configured to hold a tool receptacle (14), a second holding means (16), which is configured to hold a tool (18), a linear guide (20), by means of which the second holding means (16) is able to move in relation to the first holding means (12) in an axial direction running along or parallel to a main axis (X) in order to move the tool closer to the tool receptacle and insert it into the tool receptacle, a sensing arrangement (40), which is able to move in an axial direction and is configured to sense in a contact-free manner an axial position of a first reference point (R1) associated with the first holding means and to sense in a contact-free manner an axial position of a second reference point (R2) for a tool held by the second holding means, and a measuring arrangement, which measures an axial displacement path of the sensing arrangement. The invention furthermore relates to a method for inserting a tool as well as a device having a clamping arrangement for holding the tool.
MEDICAL APPARATUS REMANUFACTURING METHOD
A medical apparatus remanufacturing method includes: disassembling a housing including a first housing and a second housing. The first housing can include a boss that is press-fitted to a boss hole of a press-fitted portion of a second housing to form an assembled state in which the first housing and the second housing are assembled to each other. The housing is disassembled by changing a temperature of at least one of the boss or the press-fitted portion to decrease a contact surface pressure between the boss and the boss hole, and removing the boss from the boss hole to release the assembled state.
Joining method
A joining method of joining two pieces of subjects to be joined together, the subjects being a first member and a second member that has a joint insertion portion in which the first member is inserted, the method including: heating the second member that is set in an expansion restricting member and in which the first member is inserted to the joint insertion portion to first temperature to cause the second member to have thermal expansion and thereby causing the joint insertion portion to have plastic deformation in a direction in which a diameter shrinks with mechanically restricting thermal expansion of the second member by an inner surface of the expansion restricting member; and cooling the second member after the heating to join the first member and the second member together.
Reinforcing ring with sleeve
A compression collar is used for reinforcing an interference fit between a piping end and a fitting. The compression collar comprises a reinforcing ring having a tubular geometry with a radially-inward facing surface and a radially-outward facing surface. A sleeve is received around, at least in part, a portion of the radially-outward facing surface of the reinforcing ring and this sleeve wraps around one axial end of the reinforcing ring to form a stop edge thereon.
Golf club head with grooves and method of manufacture
Embodiments of golf clubs with grooves and methods of manufacture thereof are described herein. In one embodiment of a golf club described herein, the golf club has a head with a body. The body has a strike face with channels and at least one insert located within at least one of the channels. At least one of the channels comprises a single groove, and the insert forms at least a portion of the single groove. At least one of the channels comprises an opening on the strike face that is narrower than a bottom of the at least one of the channels. Other embodiments and related methods are also disclosed herein.
ENHANCED METAL-METAL-MATRIX COMPOSITE WEAPON BARRELS
Methods of manufacturing metal, metal-matrix, metal-metal-matrix composite weapon barrels offer barrels with improved thermal performance and rigidity with no, minimal or negative weight increase. A barrel may include a barrel core surrounded by a lightweight, thermally conductive sleeve made from metal, metal-matrix composite (MMC) materials, also referred to as metal-matrix material. The barrel core and barrel sleeve may include aligning features to prevent separation and movement of the sleeve along the core. The disclosed methods provide for material combinations and part designs that prevent separation of their parts over the life of the weapon barrel and allow the barrel to perform at high cadence over the whole temperature range the barrel is used.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COMPOSITE ELEMENT AND COMPOSITE ELEMENT
A method for producing a composite element is provided. The method includes providing an outer frame comprising metal and having a first coefficient of thermal expansion in a first spatial direction and a second coefficient of thermal expansion in a second spatial direction, the first and second coefficient of thermal expansions differing from one another; providing an inner component comprising glass; heating the outer frame to an expanded state having the outer frame expanded with respect to the inner component in the first spatial direction in accordance with the first coefficient of thermal expansion and expanded along the second spatial direction in accordance with the second coefficient of thermal expansion; inserting the inner component in the outer frame when in the expanded state; and cooling the outer frame so that the outer frame contracts from the expanded state until the inner component is fitted in outer frame under compressive stress.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR STRUCTURAL REINFORCEMENT OF VEHICLE SUSPENSION MEMBERS
A method and apparatus for assembling a suspension. In one embodiment, a method includes altering a temperature of a first suspension component and then pressing the first suspension component and a second suspension component into engagement while the temperature remains substantially altered.
Cone head wiper replacement method and apparatus
Embodiments provide a method for removably mounting at least one wiper ring to the underside of a cone head of a cone crusher. The method includes the following steps in the order recited: inducing a temperature difference between the cone head and the at least one wiper ring; mounting the at least one wiper ring to an underside of the cone head while maintaining the temperature difference; and holding the at least one wiper ring against the underside of the cone head while the temperature difference dissipates. The temperature difference may be induced by either cooling the at least one wiper ring or by heating the cone head, or both.
