Assembly Tool And Assembly System For Connecting Components

An assembly system with a sealant application station and an assembly tool is described. The assembly system is used to connect two or more components to each other. The sealant application station applies a sealant to a connector. The sealant application station is arranged in a feed system for the connectors. The sealant-applied connectors are transferred to the assembly tool. The assembly tool contains a drill spindle in which a connector and a drill can be axially aligned with each other so that the drill spindle can both drill a hole in the components to be connected and position the connector in the drilled hole with a linear movement along a processing axis. For these operations, the drill spindle moves only along the processing axis, so that a linear drive can be used for these operations.

A gripping mechanism (3) includes a holder (31), a gripping roller (32), a first movable plate (331), a second movable plate (332), a first spring (341), and a second spring (342). The holder (31) houses the gripping roller (32). The first movable plate (331) and the second movable plate (332) pinch the gripping roller (32) inside the holder (31). The first spring (341) urges the first movable plate (331) toward the gripping roller (32). The second spring (342) urges the second movable plate (332) toward the gripping roller (32). The gripping mechanism (3) grips a gripped section (42) of a first component (4) between the first movable plate (331) and the gripping roller (32).

MULTIPLE OBJECT DETECTION

A system for singulating objects includes a bin for receiving a collection of objects, a robotic manipulator for grasping objects from the bin, a scale for measuring a weight of the grasped objects, and a computer system for comparing measured weights to acceptable weight ranges to detect double picks. Methods include determining acceptable weight ranges by weighing a plurality of objects.

Computer chassis welding device

A chassis welding device for welding brackets as standard members to a body of a chassis includes a frame, a first transferring member, a plurality of loading mechanisms, a plurality of carriers, a conveying member, a shifting member, and a spot welder. The loading mechanism transfers standard members to individual preset positions on the carrier to face the solder joints on the standard members away from the carrier. The first transferring member transports the carrier to the shifting member. The shifting member transfers the carrier from the first transferring member to the spot welder. The conveying member transfers the body into contact with the solder joints. The spot welder applies heat to melt the solder joints to bond the standard members to the body.

Disclosed is an automatic bolt fastening device which includes a main body frame, a lower arm installed in the main body frame to be rotatable in a rightward-leftward direction, a gripper installed in a tip portion of the lower arm to pick up the bolt from a bolt feeder, an upper arm installed in the main body frame on an upper side of the lower arm to be rotatable in the rightward-leftward direction, and a bolt fastener installed in a tip portion of the upper arm to be movable upward and downward, and fastening the bolt to the workpiece located on the assembly line after being moved to the assembly line by the upper arm in a state where the bolt fastener vacuum-suctions the bolt picked up by the gripper.

Cassette fed automated clip application system

An automated clip application system for fitting clips in an automotive assembly line includes a cassette receiving station for receiving at least one cassette preloaded with a plurality of clips. The clips in the cassette are arranged in the same orientation. A dispensing opening dispenses clips from the cassette one at a time, and a robotic member is programmed to pick up the clips, one at a time, after they have been dispensed from the dispensing opening and fasten each clip in position in an automotive assembly.

Clip installation tooling and method for installing clips including a magazine for holding a plurality of clips and clip end of arm tooling for picking up at least one clip at a time. The magazine stops at predetermined intervals for spacing each respective clip into openings on the magazine. The clip end of arm tooling has at least one body connected to a plurality of cylinders each with an inlet/outlet port receiving vacuum/air blow off. The clip end of arm tooling picks up one or more clips from the magazine at a time. The vacuum generation to the port(s) assists in holding the clip(s) and eliminates dropping clip(s) prior to placement for installation of the clip(s). After the clip(s) is/are placed, air blow off through the port(s) insures clip(s) are removed from the clip end of arm tooling and stay in the desired position(s).

Method for remotely switching screw feeding into a construction/building-type door assembly machine with an automatic-hinge applicator
11123827 · 2021-09-21 · ·

Techniques are disclosed for remotely switching screw color or screw type feeding into a door assembly machine with an auto-hinge applicator. An apparatus having a turntable is supported on bearings and a framework. Each side of the turntable includes a screw hopper accessible via a rotary index. The screw hoppers receive a user input to make a screw selection. Upon receiving a selection, one of the hoppers indexes into position, allowing the correct screw to feed to the hinge applicator. Screw feed-hoses from screwdrivers on the hinge applicator are arranged to connect to a manifold below the screw hoppers. Screws drop from the hoppers into a manifold, at which point the screws are blown with compressed air through the feed-hoses to the screwdrivers on the hinge applicator. Screws can be reloaded into the screw hoppers when rotated in alignment with the hinge side of the door assembly machine.
