Apparatus and method for unpacking components in tape- and-reel
A device is provided for unpackaging components encased between a first tape body and a second tape body of a sealed tape. The device includes a component collection device including a cavity for receiving components falling out of the sealed tape being de-taped. A de-taping device is attached to the component collection device. The de-taping device includes a support base held over the cavity, and a shaft on one side of the support base. The support base with the shaft is configured to enable one of the first tape body and the second tape body to be extendable around the shaft and the support base and to be pullable, such that the first tape body and the second tape body are separated and the components fall out of the sealed tape. The support base may include a through-hole configured for sealed tapes to pass through and to be held.
Method for producing or releasing a press-fit connection and tool
Making or undoing an oil press fit between a first and second components at respective fitting surfaces includes pressurizing a channel in the second component to produce or release the oil press fit. Oil is applied by the channel during pressurization from a connection between a first fitting surface on the first component and a second fitting surface on the second component. The channel is defined, at least in sections, by two holes intersecting at a point of intersection, one of which is subdivided by the point of intersection into a first part leading to the second fitting surface and a second part opening to an outer side of the second component. Prior to pressurization, an elastically deformable sealing element is placed at the point of intersection, and it is then pressed into the second part of the hole at the point of intersection in a sealing manner.
Solar panel frame disassembling apparatus
Disclosed is an apparatus that is configured to separate the frame of a solar panel from the body of the solar panel. The apparatus includes first and second plates that are configured to clamp the body between them. Separating at least a portion of the frame from the body is achieved through the use of one or more separation elements that are collectively configured and arranged to progressively push on a side of the frame.
Production method for integrated circuits
An integrated circuit production method. In some examples, the method includes receiving a leadframe comprising a plurality of in-production ICs in a forming machine, singulating the plurality of in-production ICs, forming leads of at least some of the plurality of in-production ICs to comply with dimensions and tolerances corresponding to an intended form factor of the plurality of in-production ICs, and separating, automatically by the forming machine, formed ICs from unformed ICs after the forming.
COMPRESSOR ROTOR DESTACKING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A disassembly tool for a rotor assembly of a gas turbine engine includes a plurality of legs configured for installation into a rotor bore of a rotor of the rotor assembly. Each leg includes one or more keys extending radially inwardly toward a center of the rotor bore. A puck is configured for installation into the rotor bore radially inboard of the plurality of legs. The puck includes a groove receptive of the one or more keys to retain the puck to the plurality of legs.
Impeller removal tool
An impeller removal tool assembly is provided. The assembly can include a central body, a first puller arm, and a second puller arm, each arm pivotably pinned to the central body and mirrored across a central axis from each other. The puller arms can have angled ramp surfaces and a plurality of teeth projecting toward the central axis. The assembly further includes an arm rotator bolt threadably engaged with the central body and having a bearing configured to contact the angled ramp surfaces, where rotation of the arm rotator bolt causes the puller arms to rotate between a first position disengaged from a hub of an impeller, and a second position engaged with the hub of the impeller. A central rod can extend through the arm rotator bolt and translate along the axis with respect to the central body and the arm rotator bolt to interface with a pump shaft.
CAP FOR A WATER HEATER, EXTRACTION TOOL, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A cap for insertion into a spud of a water heater includes a base, a side wall extending from the base to define a cavity together with the base, and a flange coupled to the side wall and extending outward therefrom to a peripheral rim. The flange includes a first side and a second side that is opposite the first side and further than the first side from the base. At least one of the first side of the flange and the second side of the flange includes a plurality of grooves.
COMPONENT FORMING MACHINE WITH JAMMED COMPONENT MITIGATION
A component forming machine with jammed component mitigation. In some examples, the component forming machine can include a platform configured to receive a lower die that supports a plurality of components for forming and includes a void through which at least some of the plurality of components pass subsequent to the forming, a die press positioned above the lower die and configured to lower an upper die to exert downward pressure on the plurality of components to form unformed components and formed components, and a separation system. In some examples, the separation system is configured to interact with the lower die to permit the formed components to fall into the void and prevent the unformed components from falling into the void.
Plug tool and related method of use
A plug tool is provided that can retrieve, hold and/or install plugs in holes defined by a substrate such as a board. The tool can include a handle including an upper portion and a lower portion, a tube extending from the lower portion, the tube sized to receive a plug therein, and an ejector configured to eject a plug from the tube. A method of using the tool can include placing the tube over a plug having a plug face, a plug sidewall and a plug bottom such that the plug sidewall engages and is retained in the tube; moving the tool so that the tube is aligned with a hole defined by a recipient board, the hole bounded by a hole sidewall; and ejecting the plug from the tube so the plug sidewall engages the hole sidewall and is deposited in the plug hole.
