A method for fitting sealing profiles on vehicle bodies or the parts thereof includes withdrawing the sealing profile from an unwinding unit and, by way of an adhesive layer arranged on the sealing profile, rolling of the application device the sealing profile on the vehicle body or the part of the vehicle body, along an application line provided for fitting purposes, by a pressure-exerting roller of an application head. Defects and discontinuities in the sealing profile are detected immediately by the arrangement of an automatic optical inspection system within the application device, on the user side, i.e., in particular without there being any need for markings on the wound-up sealing profile or for data handling between the manufacturer of the sealing profile and the user.
Methods and apparatus to perform a liquid-jet guided laser process and to simplify the maintenance thereof
A removably attached coupling assembly can he used to he attached to a laser focus optic assembly of a liquid jet guided laser system. The coupling assembly can include a coupling body, a window assembly, and a nozzle assembly. The coupling assembly thus can allow the independent and separate servicing of the window and the nozzle. For example, to service the window, the coupling assembly can be first detached from the laser focus optic assembly, exposing the top portion of the coupling assembly. The window assembly then can be detached from the coupling assembly. The window can be removed from the window assembly for servicing, such as being repaired or replaced.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR AN ASSEMBLED PRODUCT
A method of manufacturing produces an assembled product where a ring-shaped seal is attached to a channel in an inner circumferential surface of a ring-shaped component. The method includes: a holding step that moves an engaged portion of the seal inwardly in a radial direction using a deformation member, while restricting movement of the seal in a direction parallel to an inner circumferential wall of the channel, to cause deformation so that the outer diameter of part of the seal aside from the engaged portion becomes smaller than the channel inner circumferential diameter; and an attachment step that attaches the seal to the channel by releasing the seal to restore the seal from the deformation. The attachment step includes releasing the seal by releasing engagement by the deformation member and moving the seal body inside the channel while pressing out the seal body from inside.
Application Device Designed to Apply a Seal to a Body Element of a Vehicle and Method
An application device for applying a seal to a body element of a vehicle, comprising a guiding apparatus to feed continuous material to an outlet apparatus. The application device has a first sensor apparatus to check a predefined end portion of the continuous material for the presence of at least one predefined defect mark. The outlet apparatus has a second sensor apparatus wherein, in the event that the at least one predefined defect mark is present in the predefined end portion, the second sensor apparatus senses an end position of the predefined at least one defect mark along a longitudinal direction of the continuous material. In the event that the at least one predefined defect mark is present in the predefined end portion, the outlet apparatus cuts off a rejection portion of the fed continuous material and feeds said rejection portion to a rejection apparatus.
Method for forming seals on vehicle bodies
A method for forming seals on vehicle bodies produces by extrusion a sealing material strand to be processed to form a multiplicity of seals, coils the sealing material strand to form a transportable unit, transports the transportable unit to a processing site, and supplies the sealing material strand continuously at the processing site using the transportable unit to a processing device which forms the seals, wherein, within the scope of the processing, a portion of the sealing material strand to be applied to the relevant seal support seat and forming the seal is severed from the sealing material strand in each case. Within the scope of producing the sealing material strand, the sealing material strand portions which in each case form a seal are produced with a cross section changing in the longitudinal direction of the strand, and, within the scope of processing the sealing material strand, separating points which are required for severing the sealing material strand portions which in each case form a seal are determined by detecting markings which are produced on the sealing material strand before the transportable unit is formed and/or by detecting changes in the cross section of the sealing material strand that occur at certain longitudinal positions of the sealing material strand portions.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING THE ELONGATION AND/OR COMPRESSION OF A PROFILED SEALING ELEMENT
A method for determining the elongation and/or compression of a profiled sealing element applied to a body includes drawing the profiled sealing element, which exists as an endless profiled element, from a store and, with the help of an application roller and by means of an adhesive surface present on the profiled sealing element, rolling the profiled sealing element onto the body part along a line intended for the attachment. A measuring roller, which rolls on the profiled sealing element without slip, is arranged at a small distance before a drive system for the profiled sealing element. The length sensed by the measuring roller corresponds to the length of the profiled sealing element applied to the body along an application distance having a defined length.

The kit comprises at least one piston, one bushing, and one sealing element, wherein the piston and the bushing are assembleable and accommodate the measuring insert by a bore provided in the piston and in the bushing, wherein the piston is interactively connected with the bushing such that a pressure transmitted by the piston to the bushing serves to deform the at least one sealing element to seal the bore extending through the piston and the bushing, wherein the kit comprises a failure detection unit with at least one sensing element to detect at least one failure condition of the installation assembly, and an electronics embodied to convert the failure condition into a failure signal.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR APPLYING A FLEXIBLE SEAL TO THE PERIPHERY OF A COMPONENT
The present disclosure provides a method and device for applying a flexible seal to a periphery of a component, in particular a door of a motor vehicle. The seal is transported to an application site on the component at a variable speed and connected to the component migrating along the periphery of the component. The length of the seal is measured along the migrating application site and the length of the seal applied to the component is determined via this length measurement. The device includes an application head which transports the seal to the application site and connects it to a component at the application site. A measuring device is arranged in the region of the application head, via which the length of the applied seal is determined.
