CEACAM1 MEDIATED PROTECTIVE IMMUNITY
The presently described technology relates to the modulation of specific immune responses to create a protective immunity in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and diseases requiring the transplantation of tissue. In particular, the present technology relates to the suppression of immune responses in a targeted fashion, by increasing the functional concentration of the CEACAM1 protein in a target tissue to create a localized protective immunity for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and diseases requiring the transplantation of tissue.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING A PHARMACOKINETIC DRUG DOSING REGIMEN
Systems and methods providing a clotting factor VIII dosing regimen are disclosed. The systems and methods include determining an estimated pharmacokinetic profile of a patient using a Bayesian model of pharmacokinetic profiles of sampled patients. The systems and methods can determine a first dosing regimen for a first dosing interval including (i) a first dosage and (ii) a first therapeutic plasma protein level in the patient varying over time based at least upon the estimated pharmacokinetic profile. The systems and methods can determine a second dosing regimen for a second dosing interval including (i) a second dosage and (ii) a second therapeutic plasma protein level in the patient varying over time. The estimated pharmacokinetic profile can be adjusted based on previous patient treatments. Further, a user can select which days a dosage is to be applied such that the protein level does not fall below a target trough.
ANTIBODIES AGAINST HUMAN AND CANINE IL-13RA2
Provided herein are monoclonal antibodies that specifically bind IL-13RA2 with cross-reactivity in humans and canines. Also provided are methods of use of the antibodies in the treatment and monitoring of cancers.
Internal combustion engine, combustion systems, and related methods and control methods and systems
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to internal combustion engines, combustion systems that include such internal combustion engines, and controls for controlling operation of the combustion engine. The internal combustion engine may include one or more mechanisms for injecting fuel, air, fuel-air mixture, or combinations thereof directly into one or more cylinders, and controls may operate or direct operation of such mechanisms.
Compositions, methods, and systems for the synthesis and use of imaging agents
The present invention provides compounds with imaging moieties for imaging a subject. The present invention also relates to systems, compositions, and methods for the synthesis and use of imaging agents, or precursors thereof. An imaging agent precursor may be converted to an imaging agent using the methods described herein. In some cases, a composition or plurality of imaging agents is enriched in .sup.18F. In some cases, an imaging agent may be used to image an area of interest in a subject, including, but not limited to, the heart, cardiovascular system, cardiac vessels, brain, and other organs.

VIRAL PARTICLES FOR USE IN TREATING TAUOPATHIES SUCH AS ALZHEIMER'S DISEASES BY GENE THERAPY
The present disclosure relates to viral particles for use in treating tauopathies, particularly Alzheimer's disease, by gene therapy. More specifically, the present invention relates to a viral particle for use in treating tauopathies by gene therapy in a subject in need thereof, said viral particle comprising a nucleic acid construct including a transgene encoding a glucocerebro sidase.
THERAPEUTIC AGENT OR DIAGNOSTIC AGENT FOR CANCER
It is an object of the present invention to provide a therapeutic agent or a diagnostic agent for cancer, which has high selectivity to cancer and also has low toxicity or little side effects. According to the present invention, provided is a therapeutic agent or a diagnostic agent for cancer, comprising photosynthetic bacteria.
EDIBLE PLANT-DERIVED MICROVESICLE COMPOSITIONS FOR DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF DISEASE
Compositions that include a therapeutic agent encapsulated by an edible plant-derived microvesicle are provided. Methods for treating an inflammatory disorder and methods for treating a cancer are further provided and include administering an effective amount of a composition that includes a therapeutic agent encapsulated by an edible plant-derived microvesicle to a subject. Further provided are methods of diagnosing a colon cancer that include the steps of administering an edible plant-derived microvesicle incorporating a detectable label to a subject and then determining an amount of the detectable label in an intestine of the subject.
BIOSENSOR PERFORMANCE INDICATOR FOR INTRAORAL APPLIANCES
Methods and apparatuses for monitoring either or both the performance of an orthodontic appliance for repositioning a patient's teeth and/or the user compliance in wearing the appliance using a biosensor. The apparatuses described herein may include one or more sensors, including biosensors, electrical sensors, or both, configured to generate sensor data related to user compliance and/or repositioning of the patient's teeth by an orthodontic appliance.
