APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AN AIR BEARING STAGE FOR COMPONENT OR DEVICES
The disclosure provides an apparatus, system and method for a moveable bearing stage that allows for highly refined alignment and placement, and particularly planar alignment and placement, of component or devices through the use of robotics. The apparatus, system and method of providing at least a planar alignment of at least one component or device in relation to a secondary reference plane may include at least: a frame and stator assembly, having, at an upper portion thereof, at least a semi-spherical receiving interface; a movable assembly that moves within the frame and stator assembly, and that is connectively associated therewith by at least a plurality of springs; a semi-spherical stage, suitable for reception by the semi-spherical receiving interface and capable of at least rotational movement therewithin; a chuck within the semi-spherical stage and capable of at least co-planar, post-planar, and ante-planar positioning in relation to a plane provided by a topmost portion of the semispherical stage, wherein the chuck is capable of receiving the component or device; and at least two gripper jaws suitable for receiving and holding, at an upper portion thereof, the component or device, wherein the two gripper jaws comprise, at a lower portion thereof, at least ramps capable of physically interacting with ones of the motion stops.
AUTOMATED END FITTING INSTALLATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
Sucker rods include end fittings having an outer wedge portion proximate to an open end, an inner wedge portion proximate to a closed end, and an intermediate wedge portion between the outer and inner wedges. Each wedge includes a leading edge, a trailing edge, and an angle between the leading and trailing edges. The triangular configuration, length of the leading edge, the length of the trailing edge, and size of the angle in each wedge portion cause distribution of force, such that compressive forces distributed to the rod proximate the closed end exceed compressive forces distributed to the rod proximate the open end. An automated installation procedure installs the end fitting through the use of multiple chucks, positioned by servo motors along a fitting table.
ALIGNMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MOVING FUSELAGE STRUCTURES OF AN AEROSPACE VEHICLE INTO ASSEMBLY ALIGNMENT
A system for moving first and second fuselage structures into assembly alignment, the system including a first transmitter indexed to a first seat track of the first fuselage structure, a first reflector target indexed to a first seat track of the second fuselage structure, a second transmitter indexed to a second seat track of the first fuselage structure, a second reflector target indexed to a second seat track of the second fuselage structure, wherein the first and second transmitters and the first and second reflector targets cooperate to provide first and second measurements indicative of position of the first fuselage structure relative to the second fuselage structure, and a manipulator system including at least one assembly actuator coupled to the first fuselage structure to move the first fuselage structure into assembly alignment with the second fuselage structure based upon the first and second measurements.
INSERTION GUIDE AND INSERTION GUIDE DEVICE
Provided is an insertion guide that performs accurate rotation correction between a shaft and a hole and phase correction between the shaft and hole. The shaft includes: a first guide portion at a distal end of the shaft having a diameter smaller than a diameter of the hole; a second guide portion, provided on a base end side of a first narrow cylindrical portion, and having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the hole and larger than a diameter of the first narrow cylindrical portion; and a third guide portion, provided at the distal end of the shaft, and is a recessed portion to be engaged with a protruding portion formed in the hole. The shaft being inclined with respect to the hole, is brought into contact with the hole at two points or less before the third guide portion is brought into contact with the protruding portion.
AUTOMATIC ASSEMBLY DEVICE AND ITS CONTROL METHOD
The device has a linear motion drive unit for linearly driving a base portion along a fitting direction of one member and the other member, a rotary drive unit for rotationally driving the base portion about a center axis line A0, a movable portion provided to the base portion 6 movably along the fitting direction, a member holding unit provided to the movable portion for releasably holding the one member, an elastic unit for applying elastic force between the base portion and the movable portion, a sensor unit for obtaining distance change information of the base portion and the movable portion, and a fitting state determination unit for determining a fitting state of the one member and the other member based on the distance change information. The device enables members to be fitted to each other without any problem, when at least one of the members has a noncircular cross section.
