Actuators, systems, and methods for controlling tools are disclosed. One actuator includes a first motor, a second motor, and a controller. The first motor is operable to rotate a first threading extending in a first helical direction around an axis. The second motor is operable to rotate a second threading axially spaced apart from the first threading and extending in a second helical direction opposite the first helical direction around the axis. The controller is in communication with the first and second motors. The controller is configured to control speed and direction of the first and second motors to effect a desired pattern of axial and rotational movement of the tool. One method includes rotating the first threading in a first rotational direction, and simultaneously, rotating the second threading in a second rotational direction opposite the first direction.

TOOL HOLDER
20200298321 · 2020-09-24 ·

A tool holder includes a tubular body having a shank on a first axial end portion, a tool gripping portion on a second axial end portion, and an elastic segment interposed between the shank and the tool gripping portion in the axial direction of the body. The elastic segment is more elastically deformable along the axial direction and around a circumferential direction of the tubular body than the shank and the tool gripping portion owing to a plurality of voids that extend through the elastic segment from an outer peripheral side of the tubular body to an inner peripheral side of the tubular body. Each of the voids includes segments that extend around the circumferential direction and along the axial direction of the tubular body.

PRETENSIONABLE LOCKING SYSTEM
20200298356 · 2020-09-24 ·

A pretensionable locking system, a method for producing a locking system and a medical-technical instrument including a locking system. The locking system (2) includes a locking body (10) with an inner thread (12), and an inner locking body (20) with an outer thread (22). In a pretensioned position, the inner thread lies against the outer thread in a first longitudinal axial direction (80) and is pretensioned against the outer thread. In a locked position, the outer locking body is fixed on the inner locking body by screwing the inner thread onto the outer thread. The outer locking body has a resilient retaining element (14) that projects radially inward, and the inner locking body has a rigid bulge (24) that projects radially outward. In the pretensioned position, the retaining element lies against the bulge in a second longitudinal axial direction (85) that is opposite the first longitudinal axial direction.
