FIXTURE FOR HOLDING A PART DURING A MACHINING OPERATION
A fixture for holding a part comprises a frame supporting a guide plate. A controlled engagement device passes through the guide plate and is arranged to be advanced incrementally towards a first end of a fulcrum beam. A second end of the fulcrum beam is connected to a linkage arm, the linkage arm passing through a gap in the guide plate. An end of the linkage arm distal to the fulcrum beam has a swivel clamp mounted thereto. A support is arranged to face the swivel clamp and defines a space there between, the space being configured to receive a part to be clamped in the fixture.
WORKPIECE HOLDING APPARATUS
A workpiece holding apparatus includes: a main body; at least one shaft member capable of coming into contact with a workpiece; a clamping device into which the shaft member is inserted, the clamping device being attached to the main body and capable of switching between an unclamping state that releases the shaft member and a clamping state that clamps the shaft member; and a trigger member configured to switch the clamping device between the unclamping state and the clamping state. The trigger member comes into direct contact with the workpiece, or comes into indirect contact with the workpiece via at least a part of the shaft member, thus moving relative to the main body, and the clamping device switches from the unclamping state to the clamping state.
Clamp device
An output part is provided to the left end of a clamp arm that is supported by a housing so as to be slidable in the vertical direction. At the left end of the housing, a first hole for spring fitting opens obliquely upward towards the output part. A through hole that links the upper surface and the lower surface of the clamp arm is disposed obliquely upward at a left-leaning part of the clamp arm. A second hole for spring fitting and a female screw hole are formed, in that order, upwards in the through hole. A return spring that is installed through the first hole and the second hole impels the output part upwards. A push bolt that is screwed into the female screw hole rom above compresses the return spring.

MEASURING APPARATUS AND SUPPORT MECHANISM OF COLUMNAR WORK PIECE
Measuring apparatus includes an upper support supporting a first end of a columnar work piece in an axis direction, a lower support supporting a second end of the work piece in the axis direction, a probe measuring the work piece supported by the upper support and lower support, a rotary table coupled to the lower support and capable of rotating centered in the axis direction, and a post provided to the rotary table and mounting a first position determiner and a second position determiner so as to be switchable, the first and second position determiner determining a position of the work piece with respect to the rotary table. When a first columnar work piece as the work piece is supported by the upper support and lower support, the first position determiner is mounted to the post to determine a position by contacting the first work piece.
Operator-friendly Dead-length Quick-set Workholding Collet & Chuck Docking Station
A n operator-friendly dead-length workholding collet and chuck docking station comprises a core body, a collet and chuck, or plurality of collets and chucks, a quick-set. failsafe actuation mechanism, a coolant bleed channel or plurality of coolant bleed channels, and workholding coordinate system axes markers. The docking station contains pro visions for vertical or horizontal mounting in milling machines or machine centers and accepts standard and emergency collets wherein workpieces may be inserted, held in place, and machined.
FIXTURE FOR HOLDING A COMPLEX-SHAPED PART DURING A MACHINING OPERATION
A fixture for locating a straight edge of a curved surface of a part and holding the part in a fixed position during performance of a machining operation on the straight edge is described. The fixture includes: one or more supports for seating a convex curved surface of the part, one or more detachable end stops arranged to extend in a plane orthogonal to that in which the supports sit and against which, in use, the straight edge can be aligned, and a clamp arranged, in use, to push the convex curved surface against the supports such that the straight edge contacts the supports without obstruction of the straight edge.
WORKPIECE HOLDING SYSTEM
In a workpiece holding system, a communication unit performs short-range wireless communication between a control device and a workpiece holding device. That is, at least one of supply of power from the control device to the workpiece holding device and transmission of a command signal for a holding operation or a non-holding operation of a workpiece from the control device to the workpiece holding device is performed between a first communication unit and a second communication unit that make up the communication unit.
