The magnetic base includes a ferromagnetic body having spaced, substantially parallel first and second rails. Each of the first and second rails includes a flat bottom surface engageable with the ferromagnetic workpiece. A coil is positioned between the first and second rails for generating a holding force on the ferromagnetic workpiece. The coil defines a central axis that is parallel with the bottom surface of each of the first and second rails.

Magnet chuck

A magnet chuck includes a piston that is displaced inside a second sliding hole of a cylinder tube. One end surface of the piston abuts against a plate member when the piston reaches one displacement end point, whereas another end surface of the piston abuts against an entry member of a head cover when the piston reaches another displacement end point. At least one, and preferably both, of a first damper on the one end surface, and the second damper on the other end surface are disposed on the plate member.

The invention relates to a system for measuring vibration on a machine, with a carrier (14) for placing onto a measuring point (12) of the machine, a sensor (16) arranged on the carrier for detecting vibrations, an arrangement (16, 22, 28, 30) for detecting the electromechanical impedance of the sensor and also a monitoring device (22, 24, 26) for monitoring the current coupling of the carrier at the measuring point by means of evaluating the detected electromechanical impedance. The current coupling is in this case determined from the difference between the currently detected electromechanical impedance and the electromechanical impedance detected for a prescribed optimum coupling of the carrier to the measuring point.
