NUMERICALLY CONTROLLED MACHINE TOOL COMPRISING A MULTI-SPINDLE TURRET AND TOOL GRIPPING DEVICE
A numerically controlled machine tool including a multi-spindle turret provided with a body extending along an axis A-A between a first end by which it is fastened to a frame of the machine tool and a second end at which it comprises a rotatable head, the head comprising at least two toolholding spindles, each intended to engagingly receive a cutting tool, the spindles occupying, depending on the angular position of the head, a working position in which they are intended to carry out a machining operation on a workpiece held in position in a fixture, or a standby position in which they are withdrawn from said workpiece, each of said spindles being configured to be controlled independently of the other in order to immobilise or rotatably drive the tool that it carries, regardless of the position occupied thereby.
Material processing methods and related apparatus
The application describes a machine tool adapted and arranged to carry out removal and addition of material on a work piece located in a work station, the machine having a first head arranged to remove material from the work piece and at least a second head arranged to process the work piece, each of the first and second heads being arranged to be moveable in at least two axes and preferably in 3, 4 or 5 axes and wherein the machine is arranged to control an environment of the work station. The work station is at least partially sealable. The machine has a clean side and a dirty side. Novel processing heads particularly adapted for use in the new machine tool are disclosed. These may also be retrofitted to CNC machines. The novel heads include heads adapted to carry out two processes simultaneously. Heads adapted to carry out heat and pressure treatment are also disclosed. Use of the processing heads to carry out analysis in manufacturing steps is disclosed as is the provision and use of heads that can carry out analysis as well as processing.
TOOL MAGAZINE FOR A MACHINING CENTER, AND MACHINING CENTER COMPRISING SAID MAGAZINE
A tool magazine (25) includes a revolving holder (33) which rotates about a rotation axis (A-A). The revolving holder (33) includes a set of first seats (47) for receiving tools (U) and a set of second seats (49) for receiving tools. The revolving holder (33) further includes an inner edge (43.2), facing an inner volume (46) defined by the revolving holder (33), and an outer edge (43.1). The outer edge and the inner edge extend around the rotation axis. The first seats (47) are arranged along the outer edge (43.1) and face the opposite direction to the inner volume (46). The second seats (49) are arranged along the inner edge (43.2) and face the inner volume (46).
