Drilling accessory

THIS invention relates to a drilling accessory for a power drill drilling accessory that assists the operator of the power drill to correctly align and orientate the drill bit of the power drill with the target object, and collects the dust and/or debris arising from such drilling. The drilling accessory includes a cap having a plurality of differently sized guide holes and a container to which the cap is pivotally connected. The container comprises a first through hole, which on rotation of the cap relative to the container, enables the first through hole to be aligned with the require guide hole thereby to allow a drill bit to pass therethrough. The container further comprises a base having a planar support surface portion and a seal portion protruding outwardly from the support surface portion towards a contact lip, which contact lip defines a second through hole coaxially aligned with the first through hole. The protruding seal portion defines a bore therein tapering radially inwardly from the planar surface portion of the base towards the contact lip, which in use biases the contact lip into sealing engagement with the target object to efficiently collect dust and debris, with substantially the entire planar support surface portion contacting the target object thereby to provide a stability for drilling straight holes.

Clamshell vacuum dust extraction apparatus for a percussive air tool

A vacuum dust extraction apparatus for a percussive air tool contains and extracts workplace dust created by the impacting action of the air tool's implement. The apparatus includes a clamshell adapter constructed as two halves that are oppositely disposed about the air tool's retainer, and joined to enclose the retainer, and a tubular dust bellows fastened to the outboard end of the joined clamshell halves. The clamshell adaptor includes an integral exhaust port, and an industrial vacuum coupled to the exhaust port via a flexible suction/vacuum hose creates suction in the bellows for extracting airborne dust created by percussive action of the implement on a workpiece. Suction loss through the clamshell adaptor is minimized by a sealing element that bridges a gap between the interior periphery of the clamshell adaptor and the exterior periphery of the air tool's retainer.

Dust collector for electric power tool, electric power tool, and dust collection system

A dust collector for an electric power tool includes a main body case, a dust box, a sliding portion, and a dust collecting route. The main body case includes an exhaust port, the main body case being configured to be installed on an electric power tool. The dust box internally includes a filter. The sliding portion is disposed on the main body case. The sliding portion has a front end on which a nozzle with a suction opening is disposed. The sliding portion is slidable in a front-rear direction. The dust collecting route is from the suction opening to the exhaust port passing through the filter. The main body case includes a guiding portion through which the sliding portion passes, and the guiding portion allows the sliding portion to project rearward when the sliding portion slides.

A dust collector includes body, a dust-storing part, a sliding part, a dust-transfer passage, and a biasing member. The sliding part is held by the body to be slidable in a specified axial direction and has a suction port. The dust-transfer passage connects the suction port and the dust-storing part. The biasing member biases the sliding part in a first direction of the axial direction. The sliding part is configured to be normally held in an initial position in which the sliding part protrudes from the body by a specified length in the first direction, and to be moved in a second direction opposite to the first direction against the biasing force when pressed in the second direction. The dust collector includes a cushioning member configured to be interposed between the body and the sliding part in the axial direction when the sliding part is placed in the initial position.
