SMART COOLANT PUMP
20200078896 · 2020-03-12 ·

A smart coolant pump for a robotic or computer-controlled machine. The smart pump uses a servo motor rather than a conventional industrial motor such as an induction motor. The smart pump has inherent torque and speed sensing, and a controller integrated with the computer-controlled machine controller. The motor torque/speed sensing and coolant pressure/flow sensing enable immediate detection of any anomalous conditions such as low coolant level or coolant port blockage. The smart pump can be configured to run at a certain speed and provide a specific coolant pressure and flow rate for each machining operation performed at the station, and to run at a very low speed between machining operations. This speed configurability saves energy and allows the pump and coolant to run at lower temperatures compared to conventional constant-speed coolant pumps.

Filtration device
10561970 · 2020-02-18 · ·

A filtration device has a primary conveyer tank which is equipped with a first conveyer, a primary drum filter which rotates inside the primary conveyer tank, a secondary conveyer tank which is equipped with a second conveyer and a secondary drum filter which rotates inside the secondary conveyer tank. Liquid in the primary conveyer tank passes through a first opening to flow into the secondary conveyer tank. Clean liquid flowing into a first clean tank is supplied to a low-pressure-side supply system by a first pump. Super-clean liquid having been filtered by the secondary drum filter passes through a second opening to flow into a second clean tank, and then is supplied to a high-pressure-side supply system by a second pump.

COOLANT RECAPTURE AND RECIRCULATION IN MATERIAL REMOVAL SYSTEMS

Apparatus, systems, and/or methods for filtering, recapture, and/or recirculation of coolant are disclosed. In some examples, coolant (e.g., coolant fluid) is used to cool and/or clean a machine, such as a material removal machine, for example. In some examples, a recirculation tank may be in fluid communication with an inlet and/or outlet of a cabinet (and/or housing) of the machine. The recirculation tank may include a recapture reservoir having a filtering surface configured to prevent particulates, debris, and/or swarf from being recirculated with the coolant. A vibration device (e.g., a vibration motor and/or vibrating actuator), may be in contact with and/or configured to vibrate (and/or shake, rattle, oscillate, etc.) the filtering surface, recapture reservoir, and/or recirculation tank so as to keep the filter free from obstruction and/or help settle and/or compact filtered particulates in a bottom of the recapture reservoir and/or recirculation tank.

A motor controller comprises: a motor driver arranged at a housing attached to a machine support; fan motors and arranged in or outside the housing; and a control unit. The motor driver drives motors. The fan motors blow cooling air for cooling the interior of the housing. The CPU includes a machining mode selection unit allowing selection of at least either a first machining mode of machining a machining target finely or a second machining mode of machining the machining target more roughly than in the first machining mode. If the first machining mode is selected, the machining mode selection unit exerts control to change the rotation numbers of the fan motors and so as to reduce vibration to be transmitted from the housing to the support column.
