The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, at least: (a) a supramolecular compound that may be obtained by reaction between: at least one oil bearing at least one nucleophilic reactive function chosen from OH and NH.sub.2, and at least one junction group capable of establishing hydrogen bonds with one or more partner junction groups, each pairing of a junction group involving at least three hydrogen bonds, the said junction group bearing at least one isocyanate or imidazole reactive function capable of reacting with the reactive function borne by the oil, the said junction group also comprising at least one unit of formula (I) or (II): (b) at least two distinct non-volatile silicone oils chosen from: i) phenyl silicone oils, in particular of formula (II) or (VII) below: ii) linear or cyclic polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMSs), iii) polydimethylsiloxanes comprising alkyl or alkoxy groups, which are pendent and/or at the end of the silicone chain, these groups each containing from 2 to 24 carbon atoms, and (d) at least one agent for structuring the liquid fatty phase. ##STR00001##

The present invention may provide an oil in water (O/W) cosmetic composition having water resistance and ease of facial cleansing, using an A-B-A type triblock copolymer which is included in the cosmetic, and thus may adjust the surfactant power. Further, it is possible to provide a method for imparting water resistance and ease of facial cleansing, using the A-B-A type triblock copolymer.

The present invention relates to the use of gingival fibroblast-derived products to reduce hair loss and promote hair growth. Specifically, the invention relates to a product derived from gingival fibroblasts to be used in the treatment or prevention of alopecia, as well as in the promotion of natural hair growth and/or in the control of natural hair loss.

A robust sunscreen composition is disclosed herein comprising a water soluble polymer and a water insoluble film former providing a synergistic effect in SPF retention and critical wavelength after immersion in water, salt water, and chlorinated water. The water soluble polymer comprises poloxamer 338 (and) PPG-12/SMDI copolymer, poloxamer 407 (and) PPG-12/SMDI copolymer, or a combination thereof.

The invention thus relates to the cosmetic use of a siliceous material that may be obtained by hydrolysis and condensation, in the presence of water, of at least one tetraalkoxysilane of formula (I) below: Si(OR2)4 (I) and of an alkyltrialkoxysilane of formula (II) below: R.sub.1Si(OR.sub.2).sub.3 (H) in which: R.sub.1 denotes a C.sub.7 to C.sub.20 alkyl group, optionally interrupted in its chain with an O or S atom or with an NH group or a carbonyl group (CO), R.sub.2 denotes a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl group. Preferentially, the siliceous material is present in a composition comprising a cosmetically acceptable medium. The invention also relates to a cosmetic process for treating human body odour, in particular underarm odour and optionally human perspiration, which consists in applying to human keratin materials the said siliceous material or a composition containing the same in a cosmetically acceptable medium. The invention also relates to a composition characterized in that it comprises, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, at least the said siliceous material and at least one deodorant agent other than the said siliceous material and/or at least one antiperspirant active agent.

The present invention relates to the use of a polymer or of a cosmetic product comprising said polymer, and additionally other known cosmetic ingredients, to bring about an anti-pollution effect on human skin or on human hair, especially to protect human skin or human hair from dust, wherein the polymer is a cationic, anionic or non-ionic polymer, and wherein the polymer has a solubility in water of at least 0.01 g of polymer in 100 g of water at 20 C. at least at a pH in the range between 4 and 9.

This invention relates to a composition, in the form of a water-in-oil emulsion, containing: at least 6% by weight in relation to the total weight of the composition, of at least one non-volatile hydrocarbon-based oil H1 chosen from plant oils or non-volatile triglycerides with a molecular weight greater than 400 Da, non-volatile non-polar hydrocarbon-based oils with a molecular weight greater than 350 Da, non-volatile ester oils with a molecular weight greater than 350 Da, and mixtures thereof; optionally less than 5% by weight in relation to the total weight of said composition of non-volatile hydrocarbon-based oil(s) H2 chosen from C.sub.10-C.sub.26 alcohols, preferably monoalcohols; non-volatile triglycerides with a molecular weight less than or equal to 400 Da; non-volatile ester in oils with a molecular weight less than or equal to 350 Da; non-volatile non-polar hydrocarbon-based oils with a molecular weight less than or equal to 350 Da; dialkyl carbonates; and mixtures thereof; at least 15% by weight of water with respect to the total weight of said composition; at least one nonionic hydrocarbon-based or silicone surfactant; and at least one polar hydrocarbon-based wax chosen from beeswaxes; synthetic beeswaxes; (poly)oxyalkylenated hydrocarbon waxes, the oxyalkykenated residue(s) being C.sub.2-C.sub.4 or (poly)glycerolated; alcohol waxes, and mixtures thereof.

The present invention relates to novel hair treatment materials, and in particular materials for shaping hair and/or strengthening the hair. Also described are the use of these compounds in hair care formulations for shaping, straightening, strengthening or treating the hair, and the use of the compounds for hair straightening and/or hair strengthening.

This application relates to compounds prepared from cosmetically acceptable ingredients, methods of preparation thereof, and use thereof. Compounds are of formula (I) UCB, or salts thereof, wherein U, C and B are moieties of cosmetically acceptable ingredients U, C and B. In living tissues, the compounds can release at least one of U, C and B. The bond between C and U and/or between C and B is labile in living tissues. In particular, the compounds comprise moieties derived from salicylic acid, retinol and retinoic acid or nicotinic acid.

The cosmetic composition comprises water as a base and is characterized in that the water contains at most 1100 ppm of .sup.18O and at most 90 ppm of .sup.2H.
