Ultraviolet-Based Mildew Control
A solution for controlling mildew in a cultivated area is described. The solution can include a set of ultraviolet sources that are configured to emit ultraviolet radiation in an ultraviolet range of approximately 260 nanometers to approximately 310 nanometers to harm mildew present on a plant or ground surface. A set of sensors can be utilized to acquire plant data for at least one plant surface of a plant, which can be processed to determine a presence of mildew on the at least one plant surface. Additional features can be included to further affect the growth environment for the plant. A feedback process can be implemented to improve one or more aspects of the growth environment.
Viral inactivated biological mixture
The invention relates to a viral inactivated biological liquid or dry mixture and to its preparation. Principally, the invention relates, but is not limited, to a mixture derived from a platelet source.
Antimicrobial Compositions And Uses Thereof
The present invention relates to an antimicrobial composition having activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The composition is a) a composition comprising at least two organic acids selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, acetic acid, benzoic acid and citric acid; b) a composition comprising at least two bacteriocin selected from the group consisting of pediocin, Nisin and reuterin; c) a composition comprising pediocin and at least two organic acids selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, acetic acid, benzoic acid and citric acid; or d) a composition comprising reuterin and at least one organic acid selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, acetic acid, benzoic acid and citric acid. The present invention also relates to the use of said compositions for sanitizing and/or disinfecting surfaces and method thereof.
MULTI STERILIZATION CHAMBER PACK
A multi-chamber package is described including a first and second chamber, the first chamber having a bottom wall and sidewalls defining a cavity, the second chamber having a partially open bottom wall and sidewalls defining a cavity. A first removable seal is positioned over a top surface of the package, fully covering the first chamber and second chamber, and a second seal is positioned over a bottom surface of the partially open floor of the second chamber, fully sealing the second chamber. A method of packaging medical devices is also described.
Method and system for determining ultraviolet fluence received by a fluid
There is described a method of determining the UV fluence received by a fluid. The method comprises the steps of: (a) irradiating the fluid at an unknown UV fluence; (b) measuring the fluorescence of a test sample of the fluid after irradiation in Step (a) to produce a test signal proportional to the concentration of a prescribed fluorescent composition of matter comprised in the test sample; and (c) determining the value of the unknown UV fluence by comparing the test signal to a calibration curve of a control signal proportional to concentration of the prescribed fluorescent composition of matter in the fluid as a function of applied UV fluence. There is also described a system for determining the UV fluence received by a fluid being treated in UV fluid treatment system comprising at least one UV source. The system comprises: (a) a radiation-transparent vessel for receiving a test sample of the fluid after irradiation of the fluid at an unknown UV fluence; (b) a fluorometer for measuring the fluorescence of the test sample received in the radiation-transparent vessel to produce a test signal proportional to the concentration of a prescribed fluorescent composition of matter comprised in the test sample; and (c) a controller configured to determine the value of the unknown UV fluence by comparing the test signal to a calibration curve of a control signal proportional to concentration of the prescribed fluorescent composition of matter in the fluid as a function of applied UV fluence.
