Blade sharpening system
09855633 · 2018-01-02 ·

A blade sharpening system may include a sharpening tool for sharpening a workpiece. The system may also include a sharpening fixture having a mounting surface for mounting a workpiece to be sharpened by the sharpening tool. The mounting surface may be disposed on a sled that is movable along a sharpening path that passes under a sharpening implement that may be mounted to a movable arm of the sharpening tool when the arm is in an engaged position. The movement of the sled may be coupled to the movement of the arm such that moving the arm from a disengaged position to the engaged position initiates the sled to move in a first direction along the sharpening path and moving the arm from the engaged position to the disengaged position initiates the sled to move along the sharpening path in a second direction.

The disclosure provides a sharpener, which includes a cutter holder mechanism, a sharpening stick mechanism and an attitude adjusting mechanism. The cutter holder mechanism includes a cutter holder assembly for holding a cutter and an angle adjusting assembly configured to adjust a rotation angle of the cutter on a first plane. The attitude adjusting mechanism includes a vertical rail, a sliding body and a rotating body. The sliding body is slidably installed on the vertical rail to enable the sharpening stick mechanism to be movably arranged in a first direction, the rotating body is connected with the vertical rail to enable the sharpening stick mechanism to be rotatable in a direction parallel to a second plane, an installation part for connecting the sharpening stick mechanism is provided on the sliding body, and the grindstone is movably arranged in a second direction relative to the installation part.

SHARPENING TOOL

A sharpening tool comprising a handle, a housing portion extending from the handle, and a rotatable disk mounted within the housing. The disk can include multiple sharpening stations arranged along its perimeter. A user-actuated knob, rotatably coupled to the housing, enables selective rotation of the disk in order to position a desired sharpening station in an exposed orientation. In some embodiments, the knob rotates the disk in an opposite direction, with their axes of rotation laterally offset. A positioning mechanism, such as a magnet or detent, may bias the disk toward discrete positions, and a locking mechanism may prevent unintended rotation. Each sharpening station can include a first abrasive contact element to sharpen an edge of a blade and a second smoother contact element to support or guide the blade.

A sharpener is provided. The sharpener includes a clamping component, a sharpening seat, a sharpener holder, an arm body, a bearing ring, and a driving component, the clamping component is provided with a first rotating axis and a pair of mirrored clamping arms; one end of the arm body is sleeved on a horizontal rod, and the other end thereof is fixed to the first rotating axis; the bearing ring is sleeved on the arm body, a connecting ear is provided on an outer circumference of the bearing ring. When the driving component pushes the bearing ring to move along the arm body, the two clamping arms are caused to synchronously open and close to clamp or release a cutting tool. This sharpener combines low torque clamping and angle reproduction stability. Thus, it is suitable for precision grinding of various types of cutting tools.
