A work tool includes a motor, a tool-mounting part, a rotary shaft, a rotating member, a switch, an operation member and a lock mechanism. The rotating member is held rotatably around a rotation axis of the rotary shaft and configured to transmit torque to and from the rotary shaft while being allowed to rotate relative to the rotary shaft. The rotating member is configured to rotate together with the rotary shaft by action of transmitting the torque when the operation member is moved from the OFF position to the ON position and the lock mechanism allows the rotating member to rotate, and configured to apply a braking force to the rotary shaft by action of transmitting the torque when the operation member is moved from the ON position to the OFF position and the lock mechanism non-rotatably locks the rotating member.

Power tool and kickback detection method therefor

A power tool and a detection method for the power tool. The detection method includes collecting acceleration data, via use of an acceleration sensor of the power tool, along a tangential direction of a rotation axis of a working portion of the power tool, determining whether a proportion of the collected acceleration data that exceeds a first acceleration threshold in a preset time window exceeds a preset value, and determining that a kickback occurs in the power tool when the proportion exceeds the preset value.

Arbor adapter for converting angle grinder to compact line trimmer
20210144913 · 2021-05-20 ·

An arbor adapter for converting a common angle grinder to a compact line trimmer is disclosed. The trimmer, as converted, is powerful, efficient, and as safe as any of the typical uses for angle grinders. The prototype line trimmer is 13″ in length and may be operated with one hand if desired. Conventional line trimmers are in the 66″ range, or five times the length of the present invention. The invention requires no alteration of the factory angle grinder and guard. The invention could be modified as to material composition yet still meet the original scope and claims.

Electric tool

An electric tool, such as an angle driver, has a main tool body with a front portion and a rear portion positioned opposite to the front portion. The main tool body houses a motor configured to receive electricity to function as a drive source. A gear head is coupled with the front portion of the main tool body wherein the gear head has a spindle in communication with a motor axis of the motor via mesh-engagement of bevel gears associated with the motor axis. The spindle has with a cutter tool accessory attached thereto such that rotation of the motor axis produces a commensurate rotation of the cutter tool accessory. Battery attachment portions are associated with the rear portion of the main tool body and are configured to receive a corresponding set of batteries that provide electricity to power the motor.
