Methods and devices for preventing viral transmission
An apparatus includes multiple first reservoirs and multiple second reservoirs joined with a substrate. Selected ones of the multiple first reservoirs include a reducing agent, and first reservoir surfaces of selected ones of the multiple first reservoirs are proximate to a first substrate surface. Selected ones of the multiple second reservoirs include an oxidizing agent, and second reservoir surfaces of selected ones of the multiple second reservoirs are proximate to the first substrate surface.
Apparatus and system for indoor airborne pathogen control
A multimodal airborne pathogen control apparatus and system configured to direct and decontaminate a volume of indoor air of occupied spaces and reduce the risk of spreading airborne contagions. Certain aspects of the multimodal airborne pathogen control apparatus and system may include one or more infection control modalities including, but not limited to, dielectric Cold Plasma generation, non-ozone producing UV-C light, True HEPA filtration comprising a monoterpene phenol-impregnated filter material, and configurable intake/output ducting to direct airflow to/from a desired area and regulate interior atmospheric pressure. Embodiments of the present disclosure include a door-mounted control unit comprising a door panel having one or more directional intake vents at a floor-level of the door panel, an interior chamber housing a blower fan and one or more germicidal irradiation/inactivation means, and one or more directional output vents at a head level of the door panel.
Antimicrobial nasal insert and method of manufacturing
A nasal insert including an antimicrobial agent is inserted into the nose to eliminate or reduce undesirable microbes in the area just inside the nose. Pads of the nasal insert can be formed from a blended polymer compound with a microbial agent. Processing of the pre-polymer results in the microbial agent being trapped in the polymer. A blowing agent or CO.sub.2 gas can be introduced in the process after decompression, and before molding to improve attraction of liquid born microbes to the nasal insert.

Portable Air Sterilizer for Respirators Used in Infectious Environments
A portable air sterilization device is disclosed that attaches to respirators, and is used for the personal protection of individuals working in highly infectious environments for extended periods of time. The air sterilization device is portable and deactivates 99.99%-100% of aerosolized viruses and bacteria present in the infected air. To sterilize the infected air, the device uses the method of thermal stress.

ANTI-MICROBIAL, ANTI-ALLERGENIC BIO-FUNCTIONAL AIR FILTER MEDIUM FOR RESIDENTIAL AIR FILTRATION AND AIR FILTER ELEMENT
A bio-functional air filter medium is provided with a first filter layer that retains particles and at least one bio-functional carrier coated with or having embedded therein antimicrobial material and an anti-allergenic material. An air filter element having the bio-functional air filter medium is also disclosed. The bio-functional air filter medium is adapted to bind and capture allergens and block metabolism of bacteria while filtering air in high flow, low pressure drop residential or HVAC applications.

Closed Circuit Forced Hot Air Intraoperative Patient Warmer With Improved Sterility
A system for a closed circuit forced hot air warmer of patient beds and blankets with improved sterility has a patient mattress or blanket microprocessor controlled warmer that circulates heated air in a closed system without releasing warmed air into the area surrounding the patient or into the operating room. The system helps to avoid the exposure of patients and hospital workers in the operating room to possible infecting microbes carried in unsterile turbulent air currents related to the release of air from non-closed systems. The machinery and flexible hoses of the system are initially sterilized by a microprocessor controlled antimicrobial mist generator. The system does not discharge jets of warmed air due to the closed circuit arrangement. Turbulent air flow previously produced in the vicinity of the patient by high velocity air jets is eliminated. An ambient, quiescent condition accorded by closed circuit heating prevents infection of patients and operating room personnel by microbe migration.
FACE MASK
A face mask containing a network of conductive activated carbon meso-fibers crosslinked with a crosslinking agent bonded to a insulative polymeric micro-fiber based purification element. The purification element is captured between two ridged porous elements and contacted to the face by a biocompatible flexible polymeric seal. Optionally the front cover attaches to a main frame of the mask through a system of sliding locks that are coupled with bayonet latch mechanisms. The face mask attaches to the head of a wearer through a harness that couples with the sliding locks or alternatively with a biocompatible adhesive.
