Provided herein are settable and non-settable compositions for use in surgical procedures comprising a variety of disclosed particles and optionally including previously unclotted, lyophilized, optionally crosslinked mammalian blood plasma. Also provided are related compositions, including surgical kits and packages, as well as methods of making and using the compositions.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR ENDOSCOPIC PATCH DELIVERY

Systems and methods of delivering a patch to a target site of a patient are described herein. The patch may comprise a biomaterial such as chitosan or extracellular matrix and may be biocompatible and/or bioresorbable. The system may include an endoscope, a patch, and one of an instrument or a cap, the patch being coupled to the respective instrument or cap and detachable therefrom. Methods of delivering the patch to the target site may include introducing an endoscope into a gastrointestinal tract of a patient, e.g., the patch being in a folded or crimped configuration, navigating a distal end of the endoscope proximate a target site; and applying the patch to the target site while releasing the patch from the endoscope.

PROCESS FOR PREPARING A DRIED, SWELLABLE, SPONGY BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL FOR IMPLANTS
20250186658 · 2025-06-12 ·

A method for preparing a biological material for a medical application includes exposing the biological material to a first liquid, for example including, by at least 10%, a component other than water, and applying a first compression step onto the biological material, wherein the first compression step includes repeatedly applying a compression force in a plurality of compression intervals. The method further includes drying the biological material, and can included applying second and/or third liquids after respective first and second compression steps.

Composite positive and negative Poisson's ratio tissue adhesives
12350396 · 2025-07-08 ·

Some tissue adhesives include a solid having bio-absorbable fibers and at least one of nano-spheres, micro-spheres, nano-tubules, or micro-tubules. A first layer of the solid has a positive Poisson's ratio and a second layer of the solid has a negative Poisson's ratio. In some cases, the second layer has been transformed from a positive Poisson's ratio material to a negative Poisson's ratio material. In some cases, an entire face of the first layer is in contact with an entire face of the second layer. In some cases, the second layer includes one or more pores, at least a portion of the one or more pores containing a secretion from one or more barnacles. In some cases, the secretion is configured to adhere the tissue adhesive to one or more layers of tissue to at least partially close a wound.

Magnetic Delivery System and Hydrogel Fixative for Therapeutic Cells

A method of delivering cells to a target tissue is provided comprising depositing a hydrogel pre-gel comprising magnetic particle-loaded cells to the target tissue and, prior to or during gelation of the hydrogel, drawing the magnetic particle-loaded cells to the tissue with a magnetic field, followed by gelation of the hydrogel to lock the cells in place on the tissue. The cells may be mesenchymal stem cells, such as adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells, and the target tissue may be adventitial tissue of an aneurysm in a blood vessel. Also provided are devices useful in the method.

VASCULAR EMBOLIC AGENT, METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME AND USE THEREOF

Provided are a vascular embolic agent, a method for preparing same and use thereof. The method for preparing the vascular embolic agent comprises the following steps: (1) dissolving a 1,2-dithiolane compound, a polyphenol compound and an alkaloid in an organic solvent A to obtain a mixed solution A; (2) sealing the mixed solution A, and reacting same in an environment of 70 C. or above for 5-12 hours to obtain a mixed solution B; and (3) cooling the mixed solution B to room temperature, and adding an organic solvent B into the cooled mixed solution B for dilution to obtain the vascular embolic agent. The vascular embolic agent prepared by means of the method has outstanding biocompatibility, stable mechanical performance, excellent intravascular properties, is easily delivered to microvessels and complex-shaped target blood vessels, does not adhere to blood vessels, and can be developed without imaging artifacts.

Use of photosynthetic scaffolds in tissue engineering

The present invention is concerned with a photosynthetic scaffold that delivers oxygen and its uses for tissue engineering and the treatment of ischemia.
